We came here for our first time out for lunch with our new born recently. We were naturally anxious and worried incase she decided to scream the place down. That being said, I must say the experience went extremely well. Although this wasnāt implied or mentioned but I did personally feel like the staff quickly noticed we had a new born and soon after we sat down, our order was taken promptly and our food arrived without any excessive waiting. We really appreciated this as the cafe was still fairly busy and we felt like our situation was taken into consideration and to experience quick compassionate service like that made our first family lunch much more relaxing. I could look at this two ways, they could have seen a newborn and thought to themselves.. letās them get in and out as quickly as possible incase the baby cries and annoys everyone else, but Iām choosing to see it in a much more positive light! It certainly felt like we were personally looked after and we thank you for that.
We had two toasties and a cake each, which were very nice. Couldnāt fault our visit at all really, staff were very friendly too. We actually wanted two other different cakes to take home and the lady said that normally that would be charged at a slightly increased price due to it being a takeaway order but instead charged us a sit in price. Obviously some would expect that anyway as we still sat in for our lunch but itās a nice gesture nonetheless.
Anyone wanting to visit with little ones, itās a great cafe to visit. Can sit inside or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our second visit as the first time we could not find the cafe either from the bypass or from the adjacent industrial estate. Turned out this is because it is at the back of a garden centre and does not have its own vehicle or pedestrian access. We chose the cafe because it was dog friendly which staff confirmed it was but access is only through the garden centre which is not at all dog friendly as all dogs are immediately told to leave. So after returning to the car my wife went back on her own to get a takeaway coffee which was nice and a millionaire's shortbread which was notable for the extreme thickness of it's shortbread base! Also worth knowing is that the garden centre is only accessible from the north/west bypass carriageway and not from the opposite south/east carriageway and the exit is hazardous as it involves an abrupt left angle turn into busy traffic accelerating to 60 or 70mph. Safer to be a pedestrian and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove a garden centre with a cafe. Garden centre is small but does have a good range of indoor and outdoor items. The cafe on the other hand is a different story.
Probably some of the worst food I've ever eaten. Had the soup of the day and a BLT toastie. The bread on the sandwich was falling apart and tasted like an Asda value loaf. No seasoning in the soup, bland and tasteless. Wouldn't have minded getting such basic food providing it was cheap but it wasn't. £4.20 for tea for two which came out after the food arrived and was warm at best. £8.25 for the soup and toastie... Would advise avoiding. Tables were clean, unfortunately my cup wasn't, with some sort of green leaf plastered to the side. Staff were friendly and polite. Bit confused as to how the reviews online are so positive. Perhaps I've ordered the wrong food? Don't...
