I recently visited Papercup in Motherwell, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I originally wanted to order a matcha latte, but they had run out, so I opted for a chai latte and an americano instead. Sadly, the experience only got worse from there.
Since they specialize in specialty coffee, I took a moment to describe how I like my coffee, expecting some guidance or at least acknowledgment. However, the barista looked at me like they had absolutely no idea what I was talking about, which was surprising for a place that prides itself on coffee expertise.
The americano was so sour that I couldnāt even swallow a sipāit was completely undrinkable. The chai latte lacked any real flavor and tasted like a mildly warm drink rather than a proper chai. To make matters worse, I also didnāt receive the cake I ordered, but since I was in a rush with my takeaway order, I only realized later how badly my order had been messed up.
Overall, it was a really disappointing visit. I had high expectations, but the lack of knowledge, poor coffee quality, and service mistakes made it an experience I wouldnāt want to repeat. Hopefully, they improve both their drinks and service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated near Fir Park Stadium, Papercup is easy to find.
The interior is bright, airy and welcoming, with a large front window to watch the world go by.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and the service was excellent considering everything is cooked from scratch, good slow food not nasty fast food.
The menu has a great choice of vegan and veggie options, they also serve meat which we personally don't mind, each to their own. We can recommend the veggie breakfast burger but have suggested it should come with a bib as eating one can be a messy business.
They also roast their own coffee and it is excellent. The barista who prepared our coffees knew what they were doing, which was a delight to see and taste.
We highly recommend the Papercup Motherwell and we'll be visiting as...
