I ordered a £35 order of King prawn biriyani, sag dall & vegetables. The prawns were rubbery and had very little taste and neither did the rice or sauces. I then stupidly ordered again from them this evening. Chicken pakora (which I don't actually like and meant to order vegetable pakora, but that was my mistake, so decided to eat it anyway as I'd paid for it and didn't want to have to call again to complain). The batter was soft not crispy as you would expect the batter to be. The chicken was as dry as old leather boots and completely tasteless. The salad tub had very little salad in it and the cucumber did not taste very fresh and had a funny taste. The sauce with the pakora was about 4 teaspoons in the tub and hardly enough to feed a pigeon. The garlic nan was also not dry cooked enough and was very pale and doughie & like cardboard round the edges I could hardly bite a mouthful from the bread as it was like eating cardboard. I'm so disappointed in the whole 2 orders costing in total £50 and a complete waste of money and will never order from them again in the future as the last 3 previous times I've ordered, there have been issues with the orders being wrong when they arrived. I gave them so many chances to get the food orders right and to provide me with food that has taste, texture and fresh tasting food and they just don't come up to par with other Indian cuisine I've ordered from other places in the past and being the only restaurant on just eat where I live; next time I will drive to the next village to a more reputable Indian restaurant who can cook Indian food authentically. I don't know how this restaurant survives as I've had so many issues I'm surprised they are even still in business. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for well cooked authentic and tasty Indian cuisine as it doesn't come up to standard and is the worst I have...
Read moreI'm going to try to keep this short.
Positives: -Excellent food -Good menu range with good consideration to vegetarian dishes I just liked the feel and layout of the menus
Negatives: -Men's toilets were practically in a cave; you have to descend stairs into the coldness where it then smelt -It was very expensive with most dishes being about £10 or even more! Then you have to buy rice, drinks, starters etc on top.
Conclusion: The food is very nice and overall there is a nice authentic feel however, I certainly would not go as far as to say it is worth the price. BUT, there is an offer on Sundays (at the time we went); it was £10 for a starter, main with rice or naan, and a sweet or coffee. On this event I would deem it good value for money and a great chance to enjoy their food. Otherwise, I am dissapointed with the pricing as it's just not worth it. Great food, though the...
Read moreThis restaurant has a rating of only 3.6 - we feel this does not accurately reflect the high quality of this restaurant. In our own recent experience (2 days ago, on 3 September 2024), it is clearly much much better. We feel that it is at least a very solid 4.5 or higher (we have given it a 5). We ordered the following: papadums, Onion bhajee, Lamb Nentara, East Bengal Lamb Jhalfrezie, Sag Aloo, Aloo Goobe, Garlic Naan and Rice. The food we had was really excellent - we greatly enjoyed our meal. The delicious lamb curries were as spicy as we had asked for and all the (e.g., veggie) side dishes were really great as well. The service was friendly, the food came out swiftly, and the atmosphere was very nice (although we were the only customers). We can really...
