Hidden Gem - been living in the area for the past 3-4 years and I wasn’t even aware this gem was here. We went for lunch today, you enter through the small gift shop at the front which sells loads of lovely nick nacks. On arrival you wait to be seated we we’re greeted by the lovely Cathy (owner) seated by the window with a view to die for, the menu is fantastic not what you would assume there are loads of gorgeous options to choose from, everything is sourced locally and cooked fresh which you can tell when you get your food, both mains were gorgeous. The food was so fresh, hot and the portions fantastic, I was looking forward to a dessert but had to take a tray bake to go as I was so full. All the staff were fantastic and super helpful, service was super quick and there is such a feel good atmosphere. I will have no hesitations in recommending this to friends and family and I can’t wait to return for a coffee & cake. Cannot highly recommend that anyone reading this gives the place a try you won’t be disappointed you will be HOOKED. Thanks again for the wonderful food and setting, can’t wait to see...
Read moreMy brother and I visited Puffers Cafe today for breakfast and to be honest we were both disappointed with what we received both service and food. I had the Puffers breakfast and my brother had the three eggs cheese omelet. The breakfast was not up to the usual standard, the fried egg was rubbery and the bacon rasher was so hard it snapped, and the omelet was bland without any seasoning and there was supposed to be bacon and mushrooms but these must have been in short supply and the service was very poor as it was not busy when we went in but we had to wait about 30 minutes from ordering to receiving our food, and we had to ask the waiting staff when we were going to get our breakfast. Overall it was a disappointing experience as we have been here before many times and we have never had any complaints before. We would be reluctant to go there again unless the usual high standards and attention to detail...
Read moreDisgraceful customer service to my family. An hour to wait for a soup and a sandwich, despite 5 staff members on duty, which kept my 2 and 3 year old sons from eating which upset them. Followed by confrontational and abusive behaviour from the waitress when asked about the wait. Utterly unacceptable, especially as the manager did nothing to help when called upon and didn't seem interested in either the wait my family suffered, or the abusive nature and foul language that my wife received from the waitress, which could be heard throughout the cafe. A very poorly run place, one that my family or friends won't be back at. Nice location but ruined by incompetent staff. Only go here if you want to wait ages for service and risk being verbally abused by the staff. Avoid at all costs and go somewhere that you will be treated well and appreciated, Puffers Cafe...
