If you're looking for a breakfast restaurant with absolutely no concept of how to cook an egg - look no further!
I ordered eggs royale. With my mouth watering I sliced into my poached egg to watch the runny yolk melt all over everything. Alas, the strength of my knife was almost matched by that of the solid ball of yolk inside which I sawed into as tears streamed down my face mourning the loss of my runny yolk.
I didn't bother saying anything as the wait staff were very lovely and clearly busy.
Ah well. "How's yours?" I asked my sister hoping to try some of her baked egg pot thing. Her eyes were all I had to see - I could feel in that moment that another egg had fallen victim to a crime in the kitchen. Her eggs were so raw they remained translucent in the bowl. If you listened carefully you could almost hear them scream out in suffering and pleading for death.
A waitress came over and asked us how our meal was. We laughed about the mistreatment of the eggs and she kindly offered to take my sister's plate back and re do it - and also offered us a free cake! Lovely.
However, minutes later someone returned with the very same meal, only re-heated.
"But Jamie - were the eggs at least cooked?!" I hear you ask. Well, dear readers, I am sorry to say that no - the poor eggs remained clear, raw, and sad in the middle of the bowl.
Again - a kind wait staff asked us if all was okay. We laughingly told them that the eggs remained raw and just asked for the bill thinking the affair was over.
However - we were still to meet the final boss...
What I presume to be the owner came over to us and attempted to gas light a table of 5 (who, unbeknownst to him and contrary to popular belief, have actually not only heard of an egg but cooked some ourselves previously and even eaten them!) by telling us the egg was in fact fully cooked and could not be cooked further without burning the bowl of sauce/beans it was in.
Meanwhile my poor little sister is attempting to show him the cold and translucent white goo on her plate which he refused to look at. After kindly offering us an opportunity to go into the kitchen and essentially offer a square go to the chef (who had, I imagine, only just held their first egg that very morning and were still possibly coming to terms with how the complex food operates) we decided to settle our bill and leave.
Overall we made an enjoyable restaurant memory over a 1/10 dining experience. I hereby grant this place whatever the opposite of a Michelin star is.
Thanks again to the kind and patient wait...
Read moreVery busy so queued for a seat in the middle aisle of restaurant while staff scooted past us with plates of food and customers squeezed past.
I gave my order twice - pointing at the menu. Someone(Iâm assuming a supervisor/manager) then checked my order for third time. I was brought the wrong order while my friend was given the correct order so I sat and watched her eat and was brought mine when she had finished hers. After finishing food, we both ordered a second drink and were having a chat.
For me this is where the customer service was extremely poor, unprofessional and frankly rude. We were finishing our drinks and were asked if we more, felt like we were being hurried to finish drink. Then the bill appeared on the table which would be fine but the waitress stood waiting for payment. We paid and continued to do in drink and chat. As soon as cup was empty we were asked to vacate our table. We were escorted out like criminals by one waitress while a waiter held the door open for us.
I understand a busy restaurant wanting a fast turnaround but this behaviour was outrageous. My regret is not complaining about the mix up of order, mediocre food/drink and their rude behaviour when I was there.
Wonât be back, neither will my friends nor my family.
I think this business thought they were doing me a favour by letting me eat there, arrogant and Rude, rude, rude!
Additional note - before I had finished writing review I had a request from business asking for more feedback - I hope this sheds light but in my experience people like this are so arrogant and canât accept honest, detailed and transparent feedback....
Read morePopped in this morning for some breakfast as my brother had mentioned Ronzio had recently opened a place at Bishopbriggs Cross which has been massively lacking something like this.
I can see some mixed reviews on Google, can only assume some teething problems.
Everything from start to finish was very good, I went for the Ronzeo stack, my brother went for the steak ciabatta (didnât take any pics), I grabbed a quick pic of mines, it was as good as it looked, particularly the sauce.
Good coffee, nice environment, and the cakes looked good also (managed to pry myself away).
Would definitely recommend if your in the area and looking for a coffee and some light food instead of the likes of Costa, etc.
Staff were very friendly and attentive.
Side note, which I wonât deduct from my rating, more of an FYI if the owners are reading. Water didnât seem to be offered to any customers on arrival, itâs usually a given at coffee/brunch spots, was slightly...
