Absolute junk.
As someone lucky enough to have visited India and eaten at some of Glasgowâs best Indian restaurants and takeaways (Nakadoor Grill, Charcoals Cranhill Tandoor), I was proper disappointed by the cooking and the overall standard of food at this place.
First off, their South Indian Garlic Chilli should be a proper mix of flavours: fresh garlic sharpness balanced with a good kick of chilli, a bit of tang from tamarind or lemon, and the warmth of mustard seeds and curry leaves. It should have layers that make it interesting and lively. What I got was just a bland, watery red sauce with none of that.
The chicken bhunna was no better. It didnât even have the signature tomato or any spices or veg in the sauceâit tasted like a premade, flavourless mix dumped over the chicken. A decent bhunna needs a thick, rich sauce with spices cooked in slowly to give it depthâa bit of sweetness, some caramelized onions, and a proper balance of heat. This was flat and lifeless. Utter ....
The chicken pakora was small and overcooked too, and all this set me back ÂŁ35. For that kind of money, youâd expect decent portions and food made with a bit of care, not shortcuts and skimpy servings. I will stick to Nakadoor from now on
If they want to sell food like this and expect people in the East End to pay top prices, they need to learn how to make a proper curry with some real flavour and character. There are plenty of other places doing exactly that for the same money. This? It just doesnât cut it. It was a bland, tasteless mess. Best thing about it was having a friendly...
Read moreI called to ordered the 24 pieces of chicken pokora , 2 chicken chad, 2 poppadoms and spice onion to collect my order in 25 minutes. When I arrived 30 minutes after my order the member of staff informed me that is not yet ready. Then after another 10 minutes she packed up my order to small brown paper bag with 2 handles. I take bag cross the road and my both handles snaps so all chicken pokora laid on the dirty pavement. I picked up the paices returned to Ruby Murry's said to same member staff that the bag handles just snapped and that chicken pokora has been on the pavement. She took all bag behind the corner and I waited approximately 5 minutes when she brought my order in new orange havy duty paperbag. I commented that I hope that is never chicken and not that same what laid on the street. She said yes it's new. Well I come home I opened chicken pokora and I found that is exactly same box with same chicken pokora which laid on the street but 4 paices missing. There was only 20 paices dirty chicken pokora! So she just gave me same chicken in same box do you understand that guys! Absolutely disgusting unprofessional behaviour from staff! This just make me sick! and I will not return back and I will warn everyone else what's going on there! This place should be closed down! Avoid them because is dirty place which has no problems serving chicken from the...
Read moreTook about 10 mins to explain my order to the girl. She had to ask someone else to help her. Repeated my order to her and she agreed with it. After waiting in shop listening to her talk to her pal about her hangover she gave me my order. Got home with wrong order. Phoned tried to explain to her she didn't get it. Spoke to manager who said would send whole new order. Got order and missing items from order. Phoned again and tried to explain our order. To be told we didn't order items which we know we did, the hungover girl just hadn't wrote it down properly even though double checked order with her on the phone. Told we aren't getting a refund which we didn't ask for. Only wanted the food we were missing which we were told we aren't getting because she hadn't wrote it down. Told there's no starters with our order. States clearly in pic! Shocking service!!!! Delivery lady was polite and friendly.
We paid what the girl told us it cost. Assuming she's wrote the order down properly!!!! Which was double checked with her! Obviously the wrong slip put on the wrong bag for her to read out. End of the day what we ordered, we...
