Rustico — Restaurant in Scotland

I came here today with my aunt for a delicious breakfast. I had the Mexy eggs and she had the rustico breakfast. We both cleared our plates and enjoyed the coffees - great atmosphere and setting!

I stupidly left my retainers in a napkin which was binned and left without noticing. Quickly returned after notifying the restaurant to find two staff members going way out of their way to try find them for me. Special mention to the kind gentleman who proceeded to rake through the bins and finally found them. He really didn’t have to do this for me at all but I’m super appreciative and just shows how willing the staff are to go above and beyond their role! Saved me lots of stress and money so thank you thank you thank you!!!

We will definitely be back but next time I’ll make sure to bring my retainer holder! Thanks...

Have been visiting Rustico for numerous years now. If you had asked me to rate the cafe one year ago, I would have awarded it 5 stars. However I do feel that the value for money and food quality has gone downhill recently. Also service is hit and miss. Sometimes it is excellent - staff are friendly and welcoming. However, on several occasions recently, some staff members are too busy having a conversation behind the counter rather than attending to their work. My partner and I waited 15 minutes on our last visit before we were finally provided with menus. However we were not acknowledged by the staff in any other way. Wow. Went to Rustico with an old pal I have not seen for 30 plus years. He said it was a great place. That was an understatement! We went in at lunchtime and it was busy. We were instantly greeted by a member of staff who was polite and friendly. We order the soup and sandwich deal. I had lentil soup and a prawn sandwich. The soup was toasting hot and so tasty and as for the prawn sandwich it was full of prawns. They were falling out the side of the sandwich as I was biting into it. I can easily say this is one of the best places I have been to for years were you can just drop in and get OUTSTANDING and TASTY food, with great portions, great pricing and lovely staff.
