Outstanding takeaway from the Spice of India. Staying near Craigellachie and looking for a takeaway we found this place. Indian meals used to be a regular go-to, but we gave drifted away and rarely have one now. After this I think I need to reconsider. An award winning restaurant, we struggled to find an up-to-date menu, but got some information on their website. We went for a meal for 2 at a very reasonable £32.95. Unusually there were very few limitations on what you could order. We had a 20 minute wait and took our dogs for a short walk while waiting. I had a lamb nihari and my wife had a tiger chicken. They were both very good, very different. Her chicken was rich and sweet, while my lamb was tangy with a strong chili after taste. Both dishes were new to us and we were delighted with them both, though the nihari was too strong for my wife. We also got poppadoms, chicken tikka, the best pakora I've had in years, salad and a garlic naan. The biggest problem was eating it all, but we were in agreement that it was the best Indian food we have had in years, and that it's award- winning reputation is well deserved. I've no doubts at all about the 5 stars and will definitely be back when we are back to Craigellachie.

My girlfriend and I came in firstly because it was pretty much the only place open at 8pm on a Friday, but we’re so glad we did!! Liked it so much, we came back for takeaway the next day! I can’t remember what my friend ordered, but I had the Hariyali and it was amazing with garlic nan. The next night we ordered the hariyali again and the Butter Chicken….. wow!!!! Both were so good, it was hard to pick a favorite! The place was fabulous, with super friendly service and excellent prices!!

Have just had the best curry experience in a long time... this remote little curry house in the heart of Dufftown has blown me away. Abdul Aziz and his team provided brilliant service with superb flavoursome food. An absolute MUST for any curry fanatics. PS. An excellent pint of Kingfisher on draft too. Recommended.

Takeaway order. Recommended by a fella in town.

My better half is a vegetarian so I spent quite a lot of time on my choice on the vegetarian menu - so to receive input from the fella at the bar was appreciative. He was equally happy to suggest one of his favourite lamb dishes for me, and I ordered the sides. One veggie, one lamb, and sides, all packed away within the 15 minute window they estimated, a value price no less, and away I drove 35 minutes to our cabin.

My partner initially very disappointed to have received LOTS of chicken in her "vegetarian" Jalfrezi but once she started to eat around it we knew that despite the simple mistake it was incredible.

We both devoured the lot - certainly one of the better Indian takeaways we've had in recent memory, including our wealth of choice in Edinburgh. The fact that she could dismiss the mistake of chicken in her meal is a memory I'll always treasure, and a proof of how delicious the curry was prepared.

I'm not condoning the neglect of dietary requirements, I'm just saying... we both felt this place was worthy of a five-star mention despite the...

This restaurant/takeaway was over the road from the Airbnb we stayed at in February. It smelt amazing in the late afternoon with all that enticing Indian flavour being cooked up. This made it difficult to resist! I ordered for collection with the pleasant lady on the counter (cash only but there's an ATM a minute's walk away at the Co-op) and came back an hour later for the food. We made use of the set meal for 2, which was flexible enough for my vegetarian wife to have free choice of curry. The portions were a great size and we were totally stuffed for the reasonable price of around £30. The food was hot and tasted fantastic. We'll be back if we're in...
