The Faery tree is a pretty good place to go for a meal, it's pretty expensive. I believe I paid £12 for my vegan pizza yet the menu didn't tell me what the toppings we're. I was later informed that the toppings where whatever veggies where 'in season' which was simply untrue as my pizza was mainly topped with canned vegetables like corn and hardly any/no fresh produce. The pizza was okay, my little brother did not enjoy his pepperoni pizza as the crust was iffy. My brother and his girlfriend ordered the cod and chips only to be informed they had run out so they ordered Scampi instead which was fine but the portion was far too small and measly to be charging £10 the same price as the cod. This place is not table service which would be fine had it not been a considerable wait behind people up at the bar ordering several drinks. I really appreciated the fact that there was a vegan option, although I think you should increase your selection of vegan options and lower your prices. The option to sit outside was nice however there were several very large dogs off leashes which wasn't a problem for me but was for others at my table, I believe that it should be necessary for dogs to be kept on leashes especially when you are eating and the dogs are jumping at you. I also didn't appreciate that the customers outside the restaurant we're sitting having their meals and smoking as I was sitting with my young little brother and the smell of cigarettes wafting towards us was honestly pretty strong. This place is not luxury enough to charge such ridiculous prices for such small portions and they need to enforce more rules as there aren't any and it can make you quite unconfortable, I am usually one to give the benefit of the...

Yesterday (around 11:45am) I had the displeasure of what I believe was an encounter with the manager. I had taken my elderly, unwell father out for lunch, and as he hadn’t been to The Faerie Inn in before, we decided to stop by.
It takes him considerable effort to walk from the car park to the front door. When we got inside and asked for a table, the manager (sitting at a table) abruptly shouted: “No, food starts at 12!” I completely understand if food is not served until noon, but the way this was delivered was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. And for the sake of 15 mins? She could have just said but please take a seat and wait? As he was quite clearly unwell and frail.
I politely asked if we could at least sit down and wait, given my father’s condition, only to be barked at again: “NO, not open till 12!” If the place is not open, then the doors should not be unlocked. More importantly, there was absolutely no need for the lack of courtesy.
My father was exhausted from the effort of walking there, so I decided we would leave rather than subject him to more stress. We then drove along to The Aberfoyle Inn, where we were greeted warmly, and although food also started at 12, they kindly invited us to sit and wait. That’s how hospitality should be.
Needless to say, we will not be returning to...
Read moreIf you don’t have enough time to serve your patrons due to circumstances beyond our control (busses that don’t give us enough time) the kindest thing you can do is let us know the moment we walk in the door (with a sign or written on the menu) that you don’t have enough time to make food. We walked in the moment our bus dropped us off determined to find food. Our son was feeling sick because he was desperately hungry (2pm is far too late for a lunch). We tried ordering food right away but the first waitress wouldn’t let us and said we had to wait. By the time we were in the restaurant for 20 minutes … waiting… the second waitress finally told us they they didn’t have any time to make us any food except 2 things on the menu…. Two things that would not feed us! A family of four. That left us with 20 minutes to find anything to eat in the small town before the bus left us behind. If I could give zero stars to this establishment I would. All we needed was any communication the moment we walked in the door that you couldn’t serve your bus patrons. We would have left you in peace. Instead you wasted 20 minutes of our time only to let us know of your inadequacy. You’re very lucky I left a 20 on the table to cover our drinks. My husband wanted to walk out without leaving anything. - From a very hungry, very angry, very sick of being on a bad tour and at a bad...
