This review should've been posted last week Monday as a thank you to the lovely staff at the station coffee. I don't think I'm a "Coffee Snob" but I do LOVE my coffee, so I'm super glad we popped into this little family run cafĂ© for a light bite... because they make a damn GOOD one!â It was so good! I ended up leaving with a bag of their Mocha coffee beans to use in my own espresso machine. We came in with our two hungry little girls for a quick lunch and were surprised to find affordable options for a young family in a charming & peaceful space. It seems to be difficult nowadays to find healthy & delicious options that can feed a whole family without regretting the cost of it later, yet this place ticked all those boxes. From lovely, quick, helpful staff, (Taylor, Tim and colleagues), to yummy grub, simple & eclectic decor and of course clean facilities.. First thing my oldest asked was "do you have colouring paper and pens?" And the answer was, "sure, there's a table at the back, go help yourself" We ordered our coffee & food at the counter, and as we approached our table our coffee was already waiting for us! đâ Both our girls, one with dairy intolerance had the delicious Lentil & Carrot soup (the best soup my Scottish partner has had in a very long time according to him!) that came with an added nice touch- a toasted, hot roll... I myself couldn't help but try the Korean BBQ Chicken Burger which was definitely worth every bite! and I wasn't even hungry... I also appreciated there was an option to order it without fries, which made it cheaper!
But The Coffee... WOW! If you like good coffee, I strongly recommend. Even if it's busy and you feel like you've been waiting long - trust me. It's going to be worth it. In fact, If I was local, this would've been my usual coffee spot. I was told the owners grow their own coffee and it tastes like they know what they're doing... I Absolutely loved the Mocha blend. Haven't tried the others. Yet.. This little stop made a wonderful ending to our holiday. Thanks again Taylor & Tim, You gave great customer service! The Ground Coffee Beans work perfectly with my machine... Something special to look forward to on Saturday & Sunday mornings!
I'm sure I'll...
Read moreCafe has nice looking cakes, although my friend had a pain au chocolat and found it to have a vague banana essence which I also felt like my mocha had too... not sure if the chocolate they use. The mochas themselves were pretty awful, tasting similarly to instant coffee, with chocolate powder and slightly warm thin skimmed milk. No foam. And as mentioned vague banana taste. I'm not sure if they overheated the milk to create this watery version but for myself it was undrinkable. Took it back in but queue so long and staff looking harassed I just left it on the table in the end. A shame as I walked past a couple with takeaway coffee which looked like ideal flat whites - in colour, foam and thickness. Wish I'd got that instead. I think the barista needs to work on consistency and not be shy to discard anything not up to standard. A machine mocha from a costa would have been more drinkable (and they...
Read moreWe were looking for a wee cosy cafe for a hot drink and sweet treat for the family after a fab Aberfoyle forest walk. We love the St Mocha Cafe at Balmaha and now love this one too! Super atmosphere, we bagged a wee sofa table next to a kids 'play' table, fab coffee and yummy cakes. Noticed that they did burgers/pizzas and other tempting menu options and seeing as we hadn't made any plans for dinner we asked if they could do a take-away and we would come back and pick up. They allowed us to pick up our order just before they closed and we had the BEST dinner in our van before we headed home. Fab service, fab food...if you're in the area it's the place to...
