A little unassuming cafe serving great food. We had the full breakfast and toasties. They are both excellent. Well impressed with the freshness of the salad. Didn’t expect this. Not to mention the good northern portion. Would need to come back another time for the cakes and coffee.

A very pleasant lunch here. Friendly service and great food. I had chicken tikka nan bread which was very nice and my girlfriend had a coronation chicken jacket potato. My girlfriend said it was “the best coronation chicken she’d ever had.”

Cafe in town centre, basic seating and decoration, with a cracking mural on one wall. Menu varied, prices reasonable. Good cup of tea. Coffee was good. Lemon cheesecake was lovely, good volume to it and very light. Would return if passing.

Very odd. Chef lady was abrupt and rude to our family.

When we asked for two children to split an adult main course (they didn't do it on the kids menu), we were told we'd have to pay extra for another empty plate. Never had this in a cafe before.

"You're doing me out of a meal" was the reason. Then the lady got ruder as we chose to leave. Then she sort of apologised and then started mouthing off again. Weird.

Bit embarrassing to be honest. Will not be back. Ever. And we are locals. Luckily lots of nice places nearby. With...

We were cycling the Southerness, Dalbeattie, Dumfries loop on Saturday 9th September 2023 and popped in for brunch. The Waitress was lovely, chatty and helpful - nothing was too much bother, you could tell the Café was frequented by lots of regulars (always a good sign). We had the mini and full breakfast - food was delicious, hot and amazing value. The cakes and scones looked good too, unfortunately we didn't have the...

We booked afternoon tea for quite large group and were all thoroughly impressed and delighted. Lots of delicious homemade food! And a great variety. We couldn't finish and had to take some home in boxes.

The staff were attentive and friendly and they were very accommodating of the different dietary needs of our group.

All in all we had a wonderful afternoon and would be delighted to come...
