Family of 6 + dog, holidaying in a Southerness. I rang to make a booking and although dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant, they are allowed in the bar area. Arrived and greeted by a friendly barmaid, who looked after us all night. A little bizarre, but perfectly fine, our table was in the middle of the bar area, where people were next to us playing pool and darts. This didn’t bother us in the slightest. We loved the dukebox tunes tooo! Food was fantastic! Plentiful and very reasonable, served quickly and hot and tasty. Good sized portions too. 4 of us went for the set meal for 2, which included a soup each, 1/4 duck to share, a meal each / fried rice and a dessert, all for £39! The special also included seafood! We’d definitely recommend here and will return if back in this part of the country. Well done!

We visited here on a trip to Dalbeattie, Friday night. The restaurant is in a pub (The Ship Inn). It was very quiet and there was only us, and 1 other table - but lots of takeaway orders. The staff were so friendly, chatting to us about the history of the pub and how it became half a Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious - best Chinese food I’ve had in ages! I’d do the 4hr drive just to eat here again. The salt and chilli chips are divine! The restaurant itself is a bit dated but I think it just adds to the charm of the place. The only thing I’d possibly suggest is maybe tidying up the exterior a bit at the front - lots of dead plants and rubbish here and there. Other than that it was a lovely meal. Will definitely return if I’m in the area again!

6 of us attended this evening for a family meal and the food was delicious however when finishing we noticed something crawling on the plate.... a caterpillar, we brought it to the attention of the waitress who was mortified. When we went to pay for the bill another woman approached with the worst attitude ever!! Saying well what's the problem you ate your meal! and clearly didnt belive us. We were only bringing it to her attention, not looking for money off .I think a visit from the food standard agency is require and a lesson in customer service is needed. Picture added for proof

Having only tried one dish from here which was salt and pepper chicken I can say that it's a thoroughly good dish with incredible amounts of flavour to it. The waiters are always nice and welcoming every time I show up and the wait time is very short. Food always come out piping hot even after my short 10 minute journey home. One of the sides I will 100% recommend is their onion rings. Normally when getting takeout they end up soggy and not at all appetizing but these ones are crispy and delicious when I get them home. Overall a pleasant experience and delicious. Will update after trying different dishes to let you know how other...
