The Market Inn Hotel — Restaurant in Scotland

Don't reply to messages having acknowledged receipt. Then make you feel guilty for complaining. Avoid!

I note they have replied. It's a pity they don't mention in their reply that they did acknowledge my initial request - but never bothered to reply.

On 3rd August I got their acknowledgement, to quote -

They never replied to this message that they claim I never sent - but somehow they acknowledged!

They should be more bothered about finding out why their company failed to respond after acknowledging my request - rather than passing judgement on my character! As they state most of my reviews are very positive. So why did they get such a negative one?...

Called in with a colleague for a coffee at 1600 yesterday following a business meeting in town. Last of the big spenders I know but we were parked at Markethill and this was convenient. We were shown to a table in what I believe was the Bistro and had a catch up following the meeting. Once we had finished our coffee the staff were super keen to get rid of us and being less than subtle about the need for us to leave quickly. My colleague didn't actually finish his coffee. My husband & I were staying in Castle Douglas for a family wedding. Popped in by chance (without booking) after reading reviews. The bar & dining room were very busy but the staff couldn't have been anymore accommodating & managed to give us a table. Our meal was delicious, excellent quality, large portions & very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely pleasant and very attentive creating a lovely atmosphere to dine.
