Coffee and cake stop in Elie. Marvellous bakery goods served by a really friendly lady. The pavilion is situated beside tennis courts and is very close to the golf clubhouse. It is 5 mins walk to glorious Elie beach We didn't look at the main menu as we were having dinner in Dunfermline later in the evening This was a very pleasant simple coffee and cake stop before a long walk on Elie's amazing beaches which were virtually deserted today. Lucky us, had whole place to ourselves. Won't be like that in summer when it can be very busy.🙄

It's an ok place. The price certainly has gone up from the menu pictures uploaded by other Google reviewers. It's a bit on the pricy side, for what you get and especially taking the environment into consideration. For example, on the kids menu, (£5.50, Jan 2018 price)we ordered hotdog and chips with vegetables sticks, and we got a small hotdog, some chips, 2 small carrot sticks 2 sad pepper slices, and 2 small cucumber sticks. Hotdog doesn't have onion, and no sauce. Had to ask for kitchen up. I had a 'fish of the day which was grilled hake with capers. A small fillet of over cooked hake, chips and small leafy salad, all for £11.50. For the price I was expecting more. This is not a restaurant setting. It's a cafe. They did have a Sunday roast there, which looks quite decent and I regret that I didn't order it. Service is slow. Waited for 30min for a burger, a hot dog and grilled fish. I suppose as there aren't many competitions in this area so they can charge what ever they want. Luckily I am not a local, and I won't go back there in the...

My wife and I ate at the café this afternoon. She had a prawn salad with chips and I had a chicken burger with chips. After ordering my wife returned to the table and checked the bill which seemed to be over priced. On checking she found that we had been charged for a salad and two chicken burgers. She went back to the counter and pointed out the "mistake" to another person behind the counter. She checked the order and saw that it was for two meals and not the three that she had paid for. She received a refund. It certainly did not seem like a mistake, more like a scam. I say this as the same person who put through the order for two meals charged for three. We waited for quite some time for the food to arrive. The chips were barely warm never mind piping hot as should have been the case. My chicken burger was tiny, approximately half the size of the rather soft and tasteless roll. We will certainly not be returning to eat at this café and will not recommend...

I can't fault the service here at all, BUT I Had a "steak burger" here. It was not steak, nor anything like an actual steak burger. It was clearly a precooked and ready to eat frozen out the bag burger. It was topped with that orange presliced cheese. A fair description. It is just a café. I wasn't expecting wonders, but come on you can't charge my gran more than £70 (party of 4) for what you served us. Okay to take the kids to for snack, but it's pretty bog standard stuff, and not really worth what you pay. Something else, they don't let the dog inside. When I went in to pay I did look around and wonder, why? The inside is hardly anything you wouldn't expect from any other café really. I think if you just lowered your price a bit guys, and let the dog inside. Maybe change your burger supplier, it would be a little more on par with other cafés in the area....
