Very small cafe. Only about 6 tables. Lady with walking frame found it difficult to leave as not much room in the aisle/tables especially near the door. Angelina the owner was warm and friendly and welcoming. I was asked what would I like to order before I saw the menu. The Lentil &Bacon soup was actually full of vegetables (strange) but tasty although it was a little salty for me. Apparently I could have got a half portion ( cheaper) but hadn't seen menu to notice that. Pot of tea for one served over a tea light which could be dangerous if boisterous kids in cafe. Read moreI don't normally like to post after just one visit (e.g my Chicken Salad Sandwich was short on Chicken but was that a one-off thing?) because it can be unfair, but the taste of the food, the wonderful staff there and their regular customers were so awesome I'll make an exception. They love dogs and they love people, almost as much as they love dogs. Whereas I love the Cakes at The Tea Bay more than I love dogs or people; well, nearly. I had mistakenly thought the Tea Bay served up cake and coffee or filled morning rolls, I had crushed avocado with poached egg on sourdough bread and it wasn’t only a surprise to see it on the menu but also the standard of the food itself, well made poached egg and a touch of chilli through the avocado was a lovely touch.
