I placed a review and the owner has asked for a more detailed explanation. I’m not sure how to do it in line with the original review. So I suffer from a chronic stomach condition. Unfortunately I can order food and my condition rarely flares up but unfortunately on this occasion I just can’t eat. This does not happen all the time. I have lovely great priced meals at the establishment. I kindly asked 2 young female members of staff if I could get a small box or anything to wrap my food in as I was very hungry. I had attended with my 3 boys ans I anl do and spent approximately 60 pounds. Without even checking for me they said they had nothing that I could use to maybe eat my food a bit later. I had paid for it together with 3 other meals and drinks so I just don’t think it was a big ask. I was perfectly fine when I arrived but when the food arrived my condition was triggered and I could not eat my meal or I would have became sick. This is a medical condition that’s all im prepared to share. I take my boys out once a week and I’m predominantly fine beforehand. The staff members just stood right beside our table, did not offer any help and were just chatting and laughing. In any other restaurant I have visited if this situation happens they will always offer to put my food in a foil bag , box or something so I can take it away with me. The situation just annoyed me due to the a rudeness of the staff members. Who actually told my son when he asked that they did not have even tin foil or clingfilm in the kitchen to wrap my food. I understand it’s not a takeaway and is a restaurant however I have an illness that is unpredictable and as stated always get assistance in other restaurants when this occurs. And I come to the hungry horse every 2 weeks or so and I have been fine. This is the 1st time I have had what I call a flare up. They could have done something. The cost of living is through the roof so it would have been more helpful for me not to have to go buy more food as I knew my stomach would settle after an hr or two as I have medication I take that helps. It’s just really the attitude of the staff that was unacceptable and unhelpful. I was very annoyed especially as they were laughing and didn’t move, ask the kitchen staff or care. I hope this helps a little. I’m not prepared to tell the world my condition as it’s personal. Just really dissatisfied with the situation. If u look back at reservations u will c that we book and come regularly. It’s was our choice of place. Booked under McIntyre. It was just poor service. My son ended up buying me takeaway food later adding another 20 pounds onto a 60 pound...
Read moreUnfortunately standards here are far from acceptable for a modern day restaurant waited at the sign at the restaurant door saying wait here to be seated stood there for 5 min no one was around to seat so approached the bar to ask about my reservation was pointed in the direction of reserved seating area then waited 15/20 min for table service to then have to go back to the bar and told there was no table service which wasn’t too much bother would have been nice to have been told there was no table service before we sat down by the bar staff/manager ordered food at the bar I personally ordered the trio of chicken and a pint of Guinness aswell as 13 other people’s meals my chicken wings were dry and flavourless and half chicken I couldn’t eat it was so dry my son ordered the kids mac and cheese tasted like it just came out the microwave pint of Guinness I got was as flat as a pancake which I eventually plucked up the courage to ask it to be changed which I’m not really sure it was as the second one tasted as rank as the first so that was left on the table my partner used baby changing facilities and to my shock and hers they were covered in poo so ended up changing my 3 month old on my legs there also due to a large order was confusion on who meals were what as some people orders were the same but cooked differently like steaks if waitresses had been present that could have been prevented menus at our particular table were sticky and not clean will be the last visit to the Titan I’ve ate at hungry horses before and unfortunately this...
Read moreThought I would try this pub with my Autistic daughter and her support worker for some lunch on Friday 29th. Pub was quite noisy due to it being the holiday weekend and children being present. We were looking around for as much of a quiet spot as possible due to my daughter's sensory problems and I spotted a table that would have been suitable for her. As I attempted to approach the table, we were approached by a member of staff, who I now know to be Jack, and asked if we had a booking. I said no we hadn't and I asked if we needed one to which he replied no. I pointed to the table I was heading for and he stopped us from using it . He said he was keeping it "incase 4 or 5 people came in" and tried to direct us to another part of the pub. I said those seats weren't suitable and attempted to explain why. He wasn't listening and rather aburptly said we could sit at another table that was further up the pub, and right under a speaker, and walked away. Had he taken just a few minutes to listen, we would have explained why we were trying to find a fairly quiet spot to sit in. It should have been evident to him that one of us had a disability. My daughter is an adult who was clearly being supported by 2 other adults and was wearing ear defenders. We decided we would not eat here now and only stayed for a drink in order not to cause any upset or confusion to my daughter by turning round and leaving immediately. The service towards a customer with a disability was poor and we will...
