Not city centre but outskirts. Great wee find for lovely Italian food. Great staff and lovely wee restaurant. Food was delicious, well presented and very reasonable. Found through Itison and will now be a regular. No hassles booking and using voucher (can be used 7 days) and a great way to test out new places on a skint January weekend. It’s BYOB, cover charge included with voucher (normally £4.95). Lots of familiar delicious dishes and the option of having your pasta in an edible bowl for £4. This was a great idea as it’s made from the pizza dough and gives you a taste of what the pizza is like. It was fab. We had polpette and pate to start. Then I had rigatoni with a creamy pancetta, mushroom, onion and peppers sauce. I added king prawns for extra £3. It was superb. Ian had the rigatoni genovese with chicken in the bowl. Also superb. Too full for pud but all looked great. Defo going back. Happy New Year to you all. — at Sam’s Restaurant.

We picked this place after some deliberation and felt a bit unsure when we arrived. However, the staff quickly put us at ease, catering to our complicated needs and preferences and providing nothing short of superb service. The food was the best we've had all holiday and in fact the best meal out we've had in a long time. If I lived in the area, I would most definitely be a repeat customer. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The photos don't do justice to how tasty the food was. Thank you so much for a fabulous meal.

Came here to celebrate my mums birthday and we all throughly enjoyed! We also had a cake brought out and sang happy birthday which was nice. I had mozzarella sticks which were really nice (amazing cheese pull) and for main I have the primavera in the edible bowl which was so so good. Highly recommend!

Arrived 5 minutes early for a 7:30pm booking, was asked to come back 15 minutes later to allow them time to get the previous table out and cleaned up after. Fair enough, it happens. However, this is cutting into our hour and a half at the table as they shut at 9.

Waited till 20 to 8 to come back, was told the table was "ready", they just needed to set it up. Seated at 7:45pm. Ignored until 7:55pm, at which point we left as we'd have only been rushed out the door in just over an hour.

As we got ready to leave, 3 separate staff saw us and did nothing. As we finally left, one staff member walked slowly towards us, turning back before even speaking to us.

No apology, no nothing.

Terrible...

Booked a table for 12.15pm this afternoon, was welcomed by a very friendly member of staff. The restaurant was very clean. The starters were fantastic and the mains just as good, will definitely be back but next time will go for the 3 course menu as it's only £21.50,that's brilliant in this day when prices are so expensive everywhere else, highly recommend you give this place a visit. Just been again today to celebrate my parents 61st wedding anniversary and it was fantastico, service was amazing and the food was awesome,£17.50 for a two course meal is great value and we were all stuffed! Even got a wee doggie bag to take home. Great work to this restaurant...will be recommending it to...
