Recently. Dined in this restaurant twice in two weeks. First experience was a delight. the food was fantastic and cooked to our specifications. The kids meal. Pizza and garlic bread was excellent in that my grandson ate everything on his plate. I was so pleased and thanked the staff for excellent service and food. However. Just went back today and was severely disappointed. It was busier than last week so therefore my daughter and I made allowance for the hour and quarter wait for the starter. My grandson was with us and I had to ask for a slice of bread and butter to get him something to eat whilst waiting. The starters came out and my prawn cocktail tasted of washing up liquid and she chicken tempera was pink when my daughter broke a bit to give to my grandson. My daughter had eaten most of this and now feels ill (feeling nauseous and stomach sore). The main course came out with both steaks not being cooked properly. We had asked for steak to be well done this was pink. When staff came over for plated I advised that both steaks were not cooked to our preferences that they were both pink. The waitress advised she would pass this on to Chef. The best part of the meal turned out to be the sweets. However my daughter advised she found dirt on the raspberries in her ice cream sundae. On paying the bill there were no allowances for the full cocktail going back or the two main courses ( only chips and part of steak that wasn't pink) going back uneaten. Totally dissatisfied and still hungry believe it or not as hadn't really ate much apart from chips.
I'm totally confused how two different days our eating experiences could be different and unsure whether to go back for this reason.
However. I am going to advise that in future I will send meals back...
Read moreI like to leave positive reviews so here goes. I was a guest for lunch at this establishment and was so looking forward to the visit as I had never been and heard such wonderful things. It looks gorgeous, very modern and more importantly welcoming. I found it to be spotless and their distancing measures are well noted and easy to follow. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful given the current climate that is no mean feat so big thumbs up to the staff! Unfortunately my meal was disappointing. Portion size was a little sparse given the reviews from friends I was told don't order sides as the main course meal is very generous. Let's just say I'm glad I ordered a side of chips and had I known how small the main course was I may well have ordered a starter! ( I do like my food) and the choice of dessert was not to my taste. Apparently according to my friends, the portion sizes were smaller than on their previous visits and the small roast potatoes were not given on this occasion with the fish dish as like on previous occasions. I wouldn't complain as I was a guest and my friends are not the type to complain at all. The meal was nice but missing something making the chicken itself a bit bland (I had chicken and haggis) The presentation was nice, the pepper sauce the best part but again, not enough. This time it was served directly on the plate and not from a small pouring jug. The mashed potatoes were fabulous though... almost as good as my mums (that is a compliment, no one can make mash as light, creamy and fluffy as my mum). On the whole it was a pleasant lunch and I will try it again as it may have been just an off day by the...
Read moreWe booked out the entire hotel for our wedding in August and had the most amazing experience from start to finish. Dan, the Manager, was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we met we knew we were in safe hands and its thanks to him that our day went so smoothly and so perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious, the team were so attentive and friendly, and the rooms are just beautiful. We're so glad we had our wedding at Seamill House and we can't thank Dan and his team enough. We cannot recommend this hotel enough whether its for a wedding, a getaway, a meal or even just a glass of wine after a beach walk. Looking forward to visiting here for years to come!...
