A very lovely café with truly kind and helpful staff!
I came to Newtonmore looking for a place with Wi-Fi (just a heads-up: none of the cafés in town seem to offer it), so I ended up using my phone hotspot and needed to choose a comfortable spot to work from. The young lady I spoke to at The Wildflour was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and even helped me think through if there might be another spot in town with better internet, which I really appreciated.
In the end, I stayed because the atmosphere here is so cozy, the cakes looked (and tasted!) amazing, and the whole place just has a really inviting feel. They also have a beautiful garden area to sit in - unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate that day, but I’d love to come back and enjoy it next time.
Highly recommend stopping by. The delicious food, relaxed vibe and lovely staff make this café an absolute highlight!
Also good to know: they do offer vegan options, like oatmilk for coffee. It’s not listed on the menu, but if you ask, they’re happy...

Ending with several cups of piping hot tea from a large teapot (& supporting wee pot of 'top up' hot water). Staff were welcoming despite our arrival close to closing time. The front part of the premises has inviting homely looking couches, whilst the rear (up a couple of steps to the right side of the front counter) has a more recognised table cafe layout with toilet facilities. The laid back feel to the inside of the property at the rear is enhanced with gorgeous acrylic paintings (for sale and painted by the same artist) and a small area set aside for a young children's play area. Finally, a small rear outdoor area holding some additional tables. If passing through this town/village, (& feeling peckish) try this venue. Decent pricing for morning filled rolls and plated...
Read moreThe Wild Flour used to be a bakery, then an art gallery and now it is a comfortable family run cafe serving freshly cooked meals and still host to an interesting range of local artist's work in the entrance. Lovely comfy sofas, chalk and blackboard and a small play area will keep the children occupied while you enjoy your meal. Here you will find a good menu serving a range of hot food, and haggis and fruit chutney along with the biggest scones I have ever come across!! A speciality is the delicious home baked cakes displayed on a shelf, Belgian hot chocolate and a generous choice of other hot and cold drinks. At the back of the restaurant is a view over an enchanting small garden. The staff are warm and friendly and everything ticks along nicely. If you are looking for a laid back place to anchor while you enjoy a peaceful lunch in an unhurried atmosphere, consider the Wild Flour...
