Tibbie's — Restaurant in Scotland

We were really looking forward to going to Tibbie's for a tapas meal. We've had many tapas meals in Spanish restaurants over the years but I'm sorry to say it was quite limiting and not really tapas as we know it. I think the owners need to review their menu , or look at what real Tapas is - proper olives , Spanish omelette, artichokes, aubergines, oil dressings, mushrooms etc, & not Bannockburn with cheese ! Not very tapas nor was the patatas bravas- a few mini roasted potatoes with side sauce ?

The sweet menu was also rather limited - 2 variations of a cheesecake.

Can't really fault service- the owner is very cheerful and pleasant.

The restaurant is in a great location, nice quite friendly place . However on using the toilet, noticed it definitely needs refurbishing & repainting, it looked tired & in need of some tlc. We popped in for a dinner while visiting the area. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so lovely and friendly. We were well taken care of without feeling like someone is hovering over us. Delicious wine but the food is the real star here. Charcuterie board was full of Scottish cheeses, delicious meats, olives and so much more. We shared one between the two of us but could easily have it to myselas as it is too good to share. Had fantastic desserts to finish the evening and were pleasantly surprised when we saw the bill. I would absolutely recommend the place to anyone who is in Selkirk or area....
