The "ice cream" was disgusting, freezer burnt beyond comprehension and obvious cross contact because all I could taste on "cookies and cream" was mint ice cream. I didn't actually know ice cream could still be marketed and sold as ice cream in that state, it's like they scraped the ice off the inside of their freezer out back (using the same spoon used to scoop the mint choc chip) and chucked some soggy, out of date oreo chunks and slapped it in a tub. First of all, the rolls are decent. However, the whole experience and essence of the shop is ruined by the older lady serving behind the counter. We are semi-regulars who are always treated like dirt and made to feel unwelcome. We’ve been treated like that by that specific member of staff on several occasions, so much so that even another member of staff referred to her as the “grumpy one”. Was driving along the A75 and needed something to eat. Decided to drive through castle Douglass and spotted this place and the rocker in me decided it was the one to go to and I was so glad I did. The sandwiches were freshly made and stuffed full with your filling of choice. Even better were the home made sweet chocolatey bakes on the counter. These were delicious.
