Was actually going to the Chinese chippy over the road but seen people standing and sitting inside this place and looked at the sign saying just wings and wondered what it was. I could see a coca cola fridge inside and a small counter and thought maybe it was a micro bar. I did also think maybe it's something to do with chicken but dismissed that idea a couple of times. I then finally crossed the road to look inside and see if it was a chicken place and see if there was a menu on the wall. I popped my head inside as the door was wide open and people were waiting for their orders. I liked the menu and was just about to order as others had just finished ordering when a member of staff said had I ordered and I said no and was then told sorry we are not taking anymore orders. With that a woman came out the kitchen and went to leave. The time was 10.15pm and I noticed the door said open until 10pm but like I said others had just ordered. I told the woman who obviously worked there that I couldn't believe how any small business could turn away customers to which she replied they close at 10pm and then said the fryers go off at quarter to. If that was the case how would they cook the chicken for those that had just ordered at 10.10pm.? I told the woman it's a bad way to do business as I had just discovered the place and was turned away despite others ordering seconds before me. Infact I am still outside the shop right now typing this review and its 22.50pm and the door and all the lights are still on. I ended up going to the Chinese chippy opposite which I was also trying for the first time and ordered a banquet and a pie to eat while waiting. On leaving the chippy I noticed the pub called the Birkey was full and thought what a missed opportunity for Just wings. Either this place does phenomenal business and don't need new customers or they don't have a clue about business and have the no can do attitude that as soon as 10pm comes it's home time. They obviously don't enjoy their jobs or deserve success. I might Gove then one try in the future but only to test the concept with a view to looking at empty premises nearby and opening competition on a grander scale. Other than that I wouldn't go back in here on principal. It's now 10.55pm and door open and lights still on and the Chinese chippy has had a steady flow of customers both on foot and by car. Saying that the Indian and Sri Lankan takeaway next door to just wings hasn't had a single customer go in since I've been here. Anyway hopefully my Chinese banquet will still be hot enough and maybe having looked at a few other reviews of just wings saying food was awful I may of just dodged a bullet. Either way Friday night a busy pub opposite and obviously people like myself about wanting food and this place stops serving and turns people away while cooking orders placed seconds before me. Sad!!!
Finally decided to try this place. I ordered buffalo wings with blue cheese. Sorry but wish I hadn't bothered now. Buffalo wings were red slimy things and just dreadful. The blue cheese was ok. Sorry but wont be trying again. I really dont like complaining although looking at what I've written you wouldnt believe me. Maybe its I'm just used to the buffalo wings and blue cheese I used to buy when I lived in America and to be fair I haven't found anywhere in the uk that does good buffalo wings but then haven't tried too many places either and I think this is the only one who has blue cheese but saying that it wasnt the blue cheese I was...

Ordered food via uber eats, we ordered around 6pm, estimated delivery was between 7:25-7:45- quite a long wait but I thought they may be busy, plus Iām sure it will be worth the wait- how wrong could I have been! Waited until 8pm (2 hours after placing the order) before calling the take away, I spoke to a young sounding girl who told me that the food was on the way, by this point quite hungry but I thought itās ok itās on itās way. Half an hour passed and there was still no sign of the food, so I called again- to be told by the same girl it was on itās way- I pointed out that is what she said last time I called, and as we were no more than ten minutes away from the shop- Iām not sure why I still hadnāt received it 2 and a half hours after placing the order. She told me that they were busy. To me this is an excessive amount of time to wait- so I asked to cancel the order, to which I was told she couldnāt do that as it was out for delivery. So I asked what time it would be delivered she said she didnāt know. By this point I had given up trying to talk to the girl, as I hadnāt even been offered an apology and she couldnāt provide any additional information, so I contacted uber directly. This is the part where it gets really infuriating.... when contacting uber I had to confirm my mobile number was correct as a security measure- it was. When uber contacted the take away they claimed they were unable to locate my house, allegedly they had tried to call me on the phone number I confirmed to uber ( the one I was making the call on) and they said it didnāt work, I had no missed calls and despite contacting the shop twice to complain no one had mentioned this. They then offered to deliver the same food an hour later than the original delivery time - who doesnāt want cold food? I requested a refund via uber and received it straight away. I am not an unreasonable person and realise people make mistakes- if they had missed the order, were running late, or actually had tried to call or even make an apology -if they had owned up to it, I would have been a lot more understanding, but poor customer service and lies means I definitely will not be recommending anyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen a customer of 10+ years. Generally the food is excellent here but itās steadily gone downhill for the last few months. Tonight was the top of the iceberg though. After being over an hour late my partner (2h after ordering) was told on the phone all orders were out for delivery. Utter lies. Didnāt even take our address to check it hadnāt been missed and hung up. Shocking customer service. Over an hour since then (2.25 hours late now) it still has not arrived.
First of all why are they taking more orders than they have the capacity for and secondly why are they lying when they have no intention on delivering? This is not a business it is a robbery of peoples good intentions and hard earnt money. Iām both shocked and disgusted in how this business is losing its reputation. After reading so many bad comments tonight I can empathise and wish I had only read them sooner to save going to bed on empty stomach and empty pockets.
