Nannapat Thai restaurant and bar — Restaurant in Sefton

WOW. I used to go all the way to Southport for a decent Thai restaurant, but now I've tried Nannapat's in Maghull, I'll save myself the forty minutes of driving. What a fabulous little Pad Thai I had for lunch, and what a brilliant little lunch menu they have as well. Always so friendly and helpful (her sister Kate once cured my frozen shoulder with some good old fashioned deep tissue therapy), so it's a talented, hard working family, full of joy and traditional beautiful Thai smiles. Nannapat really goes out of her way to make sure you get exactly what you ask for (unlike some others who overdo the spices). The service and atmosphere was wonderful, genuine and authentic. Only problem is, it's re-awoken my love for Thai culture, and their chicken satay 😉 Should I head back towards Koh Samui? Or spend more lunchtimes in Nannapat's? Starters good and sizzling beef was really nice, but the seabass swimming in liquid was awful, someone on another table asked if it was soup! Staff had no personalities and did not know the menu. They were talking amongst themselves and standing around having a drink, so I had to get up to ask for soy sauce as I couldn't attract their attention. Ours was the last sitting of the evening, heating was switched off, as we noticed the drop in temperature for around the last 30 minutes and after being offered dessert, this was retracted when the menu's arrived because the kitchen was closed. Soundboards needed as it was so noisey. We won't be back, but I suggest they should either make last orders earlier so dessert is an option or be prepared to keep the kitchen open till all customers...

Perfection! We reserve this as a treat for birthdays and special occasions and it does not disappoint! I opted for the duck with egg noodles dish and tamarind sauce and it's the best duck dish I have eaten......ever, it's one of those occasions your asked to say what you thought at the end and words just fail I can't recommend enough and look forward to trying something else off the menu in the next visit, I would say starters are are the smaller portions side but the desert portion more than makes up for it so if you are going for 3 course it's plenty but if you are not a dessert person would recommend ordering sides with the main and the kids menu didn't disappoint our little girl ate twice the amount she normally eats when at...
