Northway Takeaway — Restaurant in Sefton

I had high hopes for this new chippy from looking in, they have put a lot of work getting to where they are and I think it’s unfair to give any restaurant 1 star. I tend to ignore these reviews as they don’t tend to give you a true picture or little to no comments to back that 1 star. Anyway back to my experience, I have to say, it was not good. Firstly the order was over 2 hours and I rang multiple times to be told it will be 10-15 mins. It was like when you ring a taxi and they say it’s round the corner. From my experience and the reviews I have just gone through, it’s seems quite common. I have to say to the chippy, this was poor, either stick to the local orders and stop doing internet orders or manage/increase staff drivers to cope with the demand as you are not doing this now. It will lose you business in the long run by trying to do to much. I understand why you need to do this but it will cost you in the future continuing this approach, however that’s only my thoughts through experience in life and I hope you prove me wrong as you seem to be trying. Now the food, as I thought it would be from the delivery times, the food was not cold but not hot either and It’s not the worst and was not the best tasting food I have had from other places in Maghull, but we only ordered a couple of dishes and may need more orders to give more feedback overall on this. However after this experience, it may be some time before I order and try again. I could of rang the restaurant as they will say as a reply to this review but based on the conversations we had before delivery, I don’t think it would of solved anything. However I do wish you all the best. Overall 2 1/2 out of 5.

Re-reviews, after a few more months from first order, they have sorted a lot of issues and is now our go to chippy in the area.

I ordered 5 meals and was a Saturday evening. If you order on another day it might come faster. However even for a Saturday, anything over 2 hours is poor in my opinion. It was my first time ordering and could of been bad luck, however as mentioned I will not be taking that risk...

Order food for delivery at 4:40pm, gave them benefit of doubt and called them at 5pm to be told driver doesn’t start till then and delivery was now on the way. Fast forward another 20mins for the driver to turn up with the order. Wish he hadn’t bothered as chips were dry, hard and burnt. Fish was dry whilst dripping in grease that should have been changed some time ago it was that bad and batter was hard and crispy not what you’d expect. No Food was 40min late Salt & pepper chips just a sweaty box of normal chips no peppers very few onions. Also half empty. Normal chips that came with meal sweaty and Luke warm. Crispy chilli beef so chewy could have broken a tooth and not sure what taste they think chilli beef should be but it’s not that. Sweet and sour chicken ok. But no pineapple in it.
