Went here for family Xmas Dinner on Xmas day. It was unfortunately a bit of a washout, with disastrous service and food. This wasn't down to a poor approach, they were suffering with an extreme staff shortage due to multiple scheduled staff calling in sick the day after Xmas eve with 'covid'. Nett result was a skeleton staff left to look after the needs of a pub full of guests expecting to be fed the full Xmas monty. Without going into the detail, the upshot was it took nearly 4 hours to get a starter and a main (couldn't eat my dinner it was dry and overcooked) and we had to give up on the desserts and coffees etc as it was had to leave so ended up with a takeaway. I haven't been to this restaurant before but was assured the food was good. Alas this was unfortunately not my experience on this occasion, which I'm sure was a result of the limited staff.
Extra Mile Opportunity (management please take note) i think it would have been a good idea for management to reach out post Xmas to those diners who were affected on the day,and offer a liitle goodwill gesture along the lines of a free meal in January, would cost very little compared to what was spent on Xmas dinner and gets the customers back in the door, buying alcohol and the chance to enjoy food without the...

We ordered food in this establishment last night. A mixed chicken plater and 5 spicy coated wings. I asked at the bar if I could have some extra spicey sauce and was informed the chef mike would not provide extra as it wasn't on the menu. The bar staff said they would try and ask again. I offered to pay extra but no joy. Food came out, and the chicken platter was actually nice. The 5 coated wings had almost no spicey sauce on. I asked for a refund on the wings straight away and was told they would not refund me.. Knowing my rights I did get the wings refunded. I would not go back to this place again for food. The chefs attitude was one of the worst experienced in a long time. Bar staff were amazing..
For some reason I can't do a separate review but..
We went again last night, it wasn't my choice but kids rule and all that. I actually couldn't fault the Place this time, chicken plater again brilliant. We even asked for take out boxes neither us the kids or the staff could fold together, was fun trying and we took some home to keep trying with. Amf also given plastic tubs to compensate..We will obviously go back and I might even apologise for my bad review.. 1-1. Ps still not enough hot sauce on my smotherd...
Read moreMy daughter and myself went for dinner with a one year old in a pram and a hungry six year old. We ordered starters and mains at 1.25. We waited and waited.. luckily my one year old grandson was asleep on his pram, but was due to wake up in about half an hour, my six year old was restless and bored and saying she was hungry. How long does it take to do chicken strips and nachos? I was so so annoyed and was just about to tell them to forget it when a lady in a white shirt cane near us to clear a table so I asked her how much longer we had to wait as we had been waiting 50 mins for chicken strips. She rushed to the kitchen and came back and said there had been trouble with their screens. 🤔 no apology... I asked then could we have mains at the same time or we could possible have waited another ridiculous amount of time. Another waitress came out with the wrong order 🙄 came back with the correct order and we actually got an apology from her. On the bright side, the food was actually nice. But it was not worth the stress of waiting that long. I have heard similar complaints in the past quite a few times, I will not be going back. Too stressful waiting that long especially with...
