Santorini Greek Taverna — Restaurant in Sefton

Just the most incredible little hidden gem! Don't be fooled by it's location, this is a perfect oasis of Greek charm. From walking in, the decor and welcome is as sunny as it's island name! The menu is extensive - the the point you're spoilt for choice and want to try everything. Just another good reason to revisit and work your way through the mouthwatering menu. We were an excitable group of 7 gals enjoying a little reunion, and Emma didn't hurry us, supplying us with jugs of water and glasses and ice for our alcoholic drinks we brought. Oh, did I not mention - it's also BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE 😁?? BONUS!! Anyway, we ordered a full array of starters, a meze of dips, salads, calamari, mushrooms, halloumi, pittas. Wow, the quality and quantity were absolutely amazing, and in fairness we could easily have been satisfied with them but had to brace ourselves for the main event! We ordered a variety of meals and forks were exchanged accompanied with pleasing mmmmmms and ooooooos with full mouths of delicious tastes. Everything is freshly cooked on the charcoal grill and accompanied with lashing of rice and the star of the show - homemade, crispy, perfect chips!! I had chicken skorda and it was devine, with lots of lamb kebabs and chops chosen too. All fantastic. Embarrassingly, we left far too much but certainly put up a good effort to eat as much of the gorgeous food as possible. This is a small, family menu that does actually feel like you are in that family. We weren't hurried and it was just perfect. I can't wait to revisit and would be happy to go as much as possible, without looking like I'd given up cooking myself!! No pictures but the ones posted by other reviews do not lie 😊. Wanted to treat my wife to a nice evening and I could not have picked a better place. Food was everything others have stated fresh tasty and cooked just right, you can take your own wine or beer and pay corkage fee.

We went with a few starters Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, Farmers Sausage, Calamari, Beetroot Salad with Cheese Garlic Bread and was also given a free basket of pittas to go with everything and for our main we went with the Kebab Mix for 2 came with a basket of Chips and a bed of Rice and more Pitta Bread {seriously not complaining}.

I was tallying the cost as we went and it was definitely worth the money. Staff where amazing all friendly full of smiles, will definitely be going back to try the other dishes on the menu.

Upon asking if they took card payment when we arrived i was given 2 options for the bill it was either by cash or by direct bank transfer {can't blame them for cutting out...

Lovely Greek food!! We ordered from here for a takeaway and the food was so tasty. We ordered the mixed meat kebab, the chicken skordo, calamari and the meatballs, the meat in the kebab was full of flavour, the chicken was succulent and the salad was very fresh, I would recommend giving them a go for quality food, the staff are friendly and even the delivery driver is smiley. I honestly have nothing to say but good things about this beautiful restaurant.

The restaurant forgot to put the meatballs in the order but they contacted me and delivered them a day later with a generous offer to choose something on the house, we let them pick and oh my they sent halloumi fries which we’d never tasted and they were also amazing! Forgot to add…… the meatballs are a must!

I will be visiting the restaurant to eat in next time to enjoy the Greek decor and...
