Rafferty's — Restaurant in Sevenoaks

Our four year old fell very ill with a nut allergy due to the negligence of the staff in not properly warning patrons of cashews used in the pesto on the children’s menu, which was just scrawled on the blackboard without any allergen warnings whatsoever. She was taken by ambulance to emergency where I write this “review “ now. In this day and age this kind of negligence from both kitchen staff and management is highly irresponsible, there is no excuse for it. Almost every restaurant, pub or fast food joint addresses potential allergens in the food they serve. For a restaurant like Raffertys, who prides themselves on their use of artisanal ingredients and so forth, this amounts to sheer laziness. They really need to sit down and take a good look at their operation and assess itself in regard to their sloppiness in addressing what in this day and age are the basic fundamentals of...

Think its become a victim of its own success! I went there a fair while back and it was fine, however a few weeks back we went on a Saturday and it was clear all was not as it once was. We were ignored by the rather terse staff for some time, and had to more or less grab a member of staff to ask for a table. After a 15 minute wait, we were served with 2 coffees, which were ok, but nothing special. A further wait of 20 minutes before we were able to try and order food, only to be told, when we asked about toasted sandwiches, that the fillings would be 'left overs' from the sandwich bar?

The owner or manager is a very nice man, attentive and helpful, the staff however, seem bored with it all, rude; pulling faces and raising eyebrows, and the least helpful I've encountered in many a year.
