I’ve Been going to Wagamamas (mostly in London) for years and really enjoyed their food. Sevenoaks have been fine eating in but we’ve now ordered via their website for pick up take away about 5 times and the last three times it’s been very poor - entire dishes missing / incorrect dishes given meaning time travelling back to the restaurant with a hungry family at least twice. The last time I ordered takeaway (Saturday 11th Oct) I selected pickup for 7:50pm hoping it would then be quiet enough to not present problems - wrong, after getting there for 7:45pm and waiting in a long queue for persons dinning in I was then told at 7:55pm that they were now getting on with my order asap! There is no point having a web system to arrange a pick up at an agreed time, if a person then arrives at the agreed time only for Wagamamas to then only start cooking it. The chap on the front desk was busy and apologetic but the experience along with the very, very watery curry dish provided has probably been the last nail in the coffin for us. It seems like online ordering for pickup is right at the back of the queue after Deliveroo drivers, then people queuing up to eat in. If you can’t make it work, then probably best just not provide a takeaway option rather than consistently let people down. Sorry Waggas - I do hope you pull it together, you were one of my top restaurants previously. PS I was sent an email the next day to provide feedback to Wagamamas, but this went to a broken link, hence why I am leaving...
Read morePoor service. Bad etiquette, Lousy staff. Very limited Vegetarian Food options.
We waited in the restaurant and waited at the entrance for 10 minutes before somebody could come and talk to us. After 10 minutes, the staff came and without asking us to sit, spent 15 minutes telling us that there is hardly any vegetarian food and if we are still interested in coming in. His subtle message was that don't eat here - not sure if it was due to racism or in general it was like this. We said to him that we want to eat whatever is available and can we sit and then only he took us in. Finally, we ordered the food and advised them that in our food we do not want any onions. The staff said no problem they will ensure this.
The food came, but it was full of onions. We called the staff to show that this has onions. The staff told us that she had already advised the chef not to put the onions. She took the food away and brought another bowl of food, but this time again onion. We decided to eat and tried our best to take out the onions. I asked the staff if you can not take care of one simple request how on earth do you address requests when somebody has allergies or is vegetarian? His simple response was - "Oh apologies, I can give you ice...
Read moreIt was a shame we picked a bank holiday and the last day of the "Eat Out to Help Out" scheme. We checked about booking on the website and found out tables were on a first-come-first-served basis. We arrived at 4:30pm and had to queue around the building for about 1 hour. As we got closer to the end of the queue the server was taking groups from behind us in the queue because we have an infant and needed a highchair, we were told to wait another 5-10 mins which was more like 20. Its a shame to have to wait longer because you have a small child. The restaurant has made lots of COVID updates and once I got out of the queue I felt comfortable dining in the restaurant which is probably at about 50% capacity. No more rubbing shoulders with a stranger next to you. The menu is the same and the service was OK, though it was hard to understand the waitress with face shield in a noisy restaurant, but obviously the face shields are an essential piece of kit. The option to pay your bill on your mobile is handy. Overall; Good COVID changes Tasty food and OK service Shame about the queues (and queueing longer...
