It's now called the Oak Tavern after being refurbished. It mostly looks the same inside except that they've added a microbrewery. As a place to go for drinks it's good. There's a good choice of beer, some craft beer options, and their own beer from the microbrewery. Although it's a little on the expensive side. And prosecco is £30 a bottle which is a bit pricy.

I wouldn't really recommend it as a place to eat. I booked a table and the waiter was very accommodating when we wanted to move to a different table. But service was very slow. We waited a long time for our food and it was hard work getting the bill at the end. I think they could have used a few more staff.

The food was alright but nothing special for the price. A few of us ordered burgers and the buns were really cold (despite the fact that they had grill lines as if they had been toasted - almost as if they are toasted in advance and then kept in a fridge!). Food was luke warm by the time we got it.

Just go for drinks, don't bother with...

Atmosphere was decorated nice and the staff were polite and attentive. However, the menu on offer didn't offer a massive range for a Saturday lunchtime which resulted in me ordering 2 small plates. The first being buttermilk chicken that could have been served to a dog, the quality of chicken was really unacceptable for charging £7 for 3 small bits. It's the type of chicken you would throw away, it made me feel ill looking at it, stringy and black and awful. Chicken breast goujons cost nothing to serve to customers, guaranteed quality and taste. Then to charge £6 for 3 little frozen cheese jalapeno poppers again is just crazy. £4 for a tiny bowl of 'rosemary salted' chips which was non existent! Overall, the small portions for the price you're paying means we won't be returning for this reason. I suggest have a visit to The Daylight Inn pub in Petts Wood and you will see this pub needs food...

Warm and friendly with the usual suspects on tap. A wooden corner with a bigger restaurant like space behind and well located. It just feels like with the name and large brewing barrel that you’d expect a more craft experience when it seems more of a dressed up sports pub (lots of TVs). Take care to check when the kitchen is open or you’ll be on crisps - it was closed at 6pm on a Tuesday. I’d return to have a pint of something comforting and Adnams is on tap, but I was hoping for something a bit more local - maybe even micro-brewery but it seems that’s something from its past.

A beautiful pub esteemed in history. It proudly displays the heart of its micro brewery set up in the centre of the establishment. In each corner there is a nod to a time where putting your feet up besides the fire was the crux of a good life. Come to think of it, it still is. Leather and lighting lace the interior like a swathe of swans (apologies the over use of alliteration). The Oak Tavern & Tap House is straightforward and so is its menu. It is humble, yet interesting offering the keen beer drinker a compliment to the hops and barley.

Great atmosphere, popular pub, lots of varied and cosy places to sit, with live music on a Friday evening. On the Friday we visited the menu was limited, nothing like the menu that’s shown online. There weren’t any healthy choices; very difficult for anyone on a diet! Far better for kids than adults. Only two desserts to choose from. It has a Thursday Quiz night too. Although there are brewing vessels, which adds to atmosphere, beer isn’t in fact brewed on site anymore. New owners.
