Great pub but their table reservation system sucks.
Arrived at the pub about 6.10pm Reservation card on the table says reserved 5.30pm so we figure they’re a no-show and take the table
Five minutes later, member of staff walks past, takes the reservation card and replaces it with a reserved 7.15pm card.
Not great, effectively they’re telling four paying customers, we’re going to ask you to leave in an hour please. Anyway, at least we know we’ve got an hour. Or so we thought…
Five minutes later (6.20pm) member of staff comes to table. Very polite but tells us the table is booked and the party has has arrived to take the table. We show them the card, booked from 7.15pm.
They, “no it’s the previous card.” Us, “the previous card said booked from 5.30.” They, “I’m sorry we made a mistake, it’s booked from 6.15” Us, “you’re really asking four paying customers to leave because you made a mistake on the reservations?” They, “you don’t have to leave, just asking you to give up the table”.
The pub was packed at this point, no other tables free. We told them we were unhappy about the situation but eventually drank up and left, very dissatisfied customers.
It’s beyond me why a pub would take table reservations on the first place. Even if they do, it should be managed properly. This wasn’t and has led to very poor...
Read moreMicro in name but massive in being a great place to go. My husband and I have been going in since it first opened, and it's great to see how established it's become. And by word of mouth. Iona is especially lovely, happy to help and her smile is so welcoming. Good selection of craft ales that are updated regularly. Prosecco (hooray), wines and cider also available. A mixture of ages, and nice clientele make it a lovely pub to chill and chat. Been to a couple of comedy nights hosted here (although they've become so successful, we now struggle book a place). Quiz evenings and acoustic sessions are featured too. The only downside is that it's become so busy that we can't always...
Read moreVisited yesterday for the first time. Excellent choice of crafts beers and IPAs, both on keg and cask. The staff were friendly and wasted no time bringing out a water bowl for our dog (they're dog friendly too, obviously). Seating is at a premium and all the available tables were reserved but there were places to stand/perch, which was fine by us. There's also no beer garden, which is a shame. It's a Micropub though so I guess this is what you get; great beers in a small friendly package. Can't wait to...
