Absolutely appalling visited today 19/11-2022 with my wife got seated and then ordered food after a short while the food arrived both myself and my wife started to add our condiments ready to start our meal upon my wife tasting her meal she asked me to try it saying it was cold I tried it for my self and it was not even Luke warm I politely spoke to the waitress informing her of the cold meal which she apologised and took the meal away after less than a minute she brought the meal back which I responded and said please don’t tell me that’s the same meal microwaved the which she responded yes my wife then responded saying please take it away I don’t want that the waitress then asked if there was anything else she wanted and my wife said no thank you as this had put her off she then shared my meal which was ok nothing spectacular whilst we was eating a group of 4 waitresses gathered and was starring at us whilst have a conversation obviously about us we didn’t finish the meal at the end I asked to speak to a manger which happens to be one of the ladies who was looking at us whilst eating I went on to inform her of the awful experience and service we had received to which our waitress came over accusing me of shouting to which I replied please I didn’t shout you are now embarrassing me and yourself in the end I left without paying for the meal and paid for just the drinks much to there dismay I have tried to look to contact the owner but no option for contact except a number we will never be visiting this establishment again and will recommend that all our friends and family...

Situated in some of the most idyllic countryside is this gem of a place. I have been many times but thanks to the current landlady Jo it has excelled previous experiences. We visited mid-week and at lunch time. We had a large family meal so reservation was needed. I would recommend reservation to avoid disappointment as it can be busy. The service is second to none and they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure all are happy. The food is served hot and all together which was impressive to say there were around 10 in our party. Good verity of classic dishes and all cooked to perfection. All were very happy with their food so very good test for them. With an impressive bar selection with Farms Blonde on tap so I was happy. With parking outside but limited I would recommend coming a little earlier to ensure a place. Street parking available but it is a small village with narrow roads. Weather permitting there is outside seating and a view worthy of hours of relaxation to soak in the beauty. Disabled parking and access from the front road door. Family friendly but also private corners for romantic occasions. Highly recommend and already planning my next visited. Big thank you to all the staff and to Jo for making our...

Recently visited here for lunch following a great day out with a friend and our 2 dogs and it was the perfect end to an amazing day.

The location of the pub is great, it’s nicely tucked away in the Peak District with breathtaking views to the valley and situated next to a gorgeous medieval church.

We were welcomed by lovely staff and shown to a window table out of the way so our dogs could feel relaxed as well.

The establishment was very tastefully decorated for the upcoming Christmas holiday and felt nice, warm and cozy.

We ordered a couple of soft drinks and some mulled wine to drink and as for the food, we shared a portion of squid then carried on with a homemade lasagna and a steak pie.

All dishes came out very appetising and delicious. Our only criticism is perhaps that the lasagna weren’t layered with pasta and béchamel as it was served as a meat ragu topped with mozzarella cheese but still it was very tasty.

We will definitely be back for more preferably when the weather gets warmer so we can take full advantage of that gorgeous views around.

Thank you for making our dining...

This was our first visit to The Old Horns. Easy to find with a reasonably large car park and a fantastic view. There is a nice outside seating area where you can eat. We booked a table before we arrived and I'm glad we did it was very busy. There were four of us , we ordered three different pies, lamb and mint, steak and Stilton and dam busters plus and a chefs Platter (a bit like a mixed grill) the food was beautifully cooked, tasty and huge man sized portions. The only downside side was three meals were delivered to the table together and the fourth meal was delayed for some reason about 10 minutes after the others, apologies were given as a miscommunication. We opened a tab at the bar and ordered three rounds of drinks and added the food, it came to £126.00 altogether which I thought was reasonable. We would definately eat here again. There was a lovely atmosphere.
