I visited The Schoolrooms CafĆ© in a small British village about two months ago, and I still think about how nice it was. From the outside, the place looks like a charming old school building with a warm and cozy atmosphere. There are lights hanging outside, and lots of plants around the entrance, which makes it feel very welcoming. Inside, the cafĆ© is beautifully decorated. The wooden floors, soft lighting, and classic wall paneling give the space a peaceful and nostalgic vibe. It almost feels like sitting in an old classroom, but much more comfortable and stylish. The seating area is clean, quiet, and perfect for relaxing or having a calm conversation. I ordered a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. The coffee was fresh and rich, and the cake was light and delicious – like something homemade. The staff were friendly and polite, and the service was quick and easy. One of my favorite moments was sitting by the window, looking out at the trees. It was raining lightly, and everything felt calm and slow – just the kind of break I needed. If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a lovely little spot to relax, enjoy some good food, and take in the peaceful village atmosphere.

Stopped here for a bacon butty after the morning walk. When I was told the price was a hefty Ā£5 I could only imagine what delights lay in-wait - pristine white farmhouse crockery, a ramekin full to the brim with homemade tomato chutney, a side garnish of fresh avocado with seasonal salad drenched in extra virgin olive oil, locally sourced ethically reared organic chargrilled back bacon from a neighbouring farms prize winning grass fed cattle stock…. …. No - not this time - just a bog-standard looking bacon bap and a couple of heinz tomato sauce sachets. To be fair though - the bacon was good - possibly organic and several slices at that. Service was good and it’s a nice place in great location. Some homemade tomato chutney would have been a nice touch though. It’s those little touches that can turn a 3 into a 4 and a 4 into a 5.

Came here for the Sunday roast. Mostly disappointed. Small portion for the price and it wasn't cooked amazingly. The seasoning was weak and off, the yorkshire had no taste or texture, and the gravy looked like it was about to split. They also charged an £8 service tip which I think is insane. I believe in tips, and am happy to, but for £8 I should be greeted with champagne and taken to a vip seat. BUUUUT!!!!! The drinks were delicious and they have a massive range of funky cocktails - passionfruit mojitos and all kinds of sangria, bellinis and martinis. There are several rooms and an oitside area. Decor is cute. Whole place is wooden and cosy. And comfortable chairs if that means anything to you. Dog friendly which is always nice to see. And a lovely location of course with views over the hills. I will definitely be back

Can't recommend the food or drinks yet because when I got to the till to order I was asked to come back in at least 10 minutes because they had a queue of at least 20 hot drinks to make. I was completely understanding and explained we weren't in a rush and asked if we could order a slice of cake in the meantime. I was told no because some of the coffee orders had cakes too. There weren't many cakes left, so I asked if there would be any left/had any in the back if I came back in 10 minutes, at this point the lady just seemed annoyed and like she wanted me to go away, she told me she didn't know and would probably have to restock. I didn't appreciate being dismissed and wasn't happy to come back in 10 minutes because we were sat upstairs and who's to say somebody else's order wouldn't be take before mine and added to the queue! I didn't want to make a fuss so me and my partner decided to leave without ordering because I wasn't impressed with the customer service and didn't want to give them my money at this point! I completely understand that on a sunny Saturday afternoon they are very busy and we would have been more than willing to wait 10-20 minutes for our order if she'd have taken it! You wouldn't be told to come back to order if you went to Costa or Starbucks or even any of the little cafes in the village I live in! Having worked in hospitality in the past I would expect to apologetically be made aware of the wait and given the opportunity to order or not. My partner mentioned he also overheard a few people moaning about the the wait time and orders were being taken to wrong tables. Such a shame because the cakes looked lovely and it's a good stop after a walk around the reservoir, hopefully just caught them...

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I had high hopes based on reviews I had read. It was mid afternoon when my friend and I arrived, there is a fair size car park behind the building and judging by the tables outside, it probably gets busy with hikers during the day. There are two floors of seating and we had to go upstairs as the ground floor was pretty full. This was a bit annoying as, havfound a table, you have to go back downstairs to place your order. The menu is pretty straightforward, sandwiches, wraps, etc and a decent selection of cooked mains. I chose the homemade burger. It has bacon and cheese, salad and fat steak chips. I didn't eat the bun as I am not fond of white bread but it looked appetising when served. The burger was disappointing. It felt like a frozen burger and not very beefy. It was served on a slice of beef tomato which was really tasteless and csme with a large portion of red cabbage coleslaw. The chips were delicious. My friend had a bowl of soup an a sandwich which she seemed to enjoy. The dessert counter is downstairs so we didn't bother, as it meant going down to choose and then coming back to the table. There were a lot of middle aged customers and it seems to be a popular lunch spot but whilst it is a very picturesque location, it is off the beaten track and you would need a car to reach it. Overall, I found the order system of find a table and then go back downstairs to order a bit annoying and anyone with mobility issues would struggle...

Completely changing my review, since the Schoolrooms have had a thorough makeover. It's a lovely old building in the picturesque little village of Low Bradfield. Entrance is up a driveway, where there is ample parking. There are picnic tables both outside the main entrance overlooking the car park, and also on the other side of the building on the grass overlooking the bridge over the river, and lovely views up to High Bradfield. Inside, everything is freshly and tastefully decorated with painted wooden panelled walls, industrial styling to some of the fittings, rustic wooden table tops. The seating is well cushioned and very comfy, the lighting is warm and inviting. On this visit, the upstairs area had been cordoned off...perhaps to prepare it for the dinner service, so I didn't see it. I didn't use the downstairs wc, but my Mum (has mobility issues) was happy with it. Service was good. The coffees and the rocky road and fruity flapjack (just over £13 in total) we had were absolutely delicious, and there were plenty of cake slices and other temptations in the pastry display to choose from. Another table of guests we chatted with had the sandwich and salad, it sounds a little expensive at £12, but this is no light lunch, it is a beautiful, tasty and generous meal. We might be regulars...
