We have been here three times and never been disappointed, until our last visit last Saturday 03rd March. We booked a table in advance. The pub was packed when we arrived and the table we were given wasn't the nicest, two pushed together one round and the other square in the corner of the pub side of the place. One of the tables wobbled so we tried to fix the problem with paper, not a big problem just a bit annoying. We ordered our food, two pies, fish and chips and an original burger. The food took about 30 minuets. it appeared that only two waiting staff were dealing with a full pub. We also ordered drinks and to my horror one of our party was served their house wine in a tumbler, no wine glasses available apparently......When the food arrived it was such a disappointment compared with our previous visits, maybe the chef had changed? One pie which was mushroom and chicken had only one small piece of meat inside and was basically hollow the other beef and ale pie was marginally better however both pastry crusts were inedible as you could not even cut into them they was both so hard. A lady opposite us apologised as she overheard us saying to each other what we wanted to order and she had just had the empty chicken pie and was too shy to tell us not to order it. The fish and chips, the fish was very dry and had been over cooked, the big chips however were very nice. The burger was dry and tasteless it was served in a metal container with paper underneath, I asked the waiter if it was normal as the last threes time I had ordered it it was served on a plate and I was not very keen eating from a metal tin, the waited told me it was always served in a metal tin so it cannot have been served on a plate before and walked off, oh must have been my imagination sorry, nice customer service. What about "Can I transfer it onto a plate for you"? When we had eaten in the pub on the other three occasions we were approached during our meal and asked if the meal was okay and also especially at the end, no one gave a hoot this time so ladies and gentlemen we wont give a hoot either next time and will not be returning. Such as shame as we are new residents here we really thought we had found a great little pub restaurant. Remember you have to remain consistent in the service industry if standards drop then people have a lot of other...
Read more5/5 Review: A Fantastic Experience at The King's Head
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The King's Head, and I must say, it was an experience worth every single one of the five stars I'm awarding it. This charming pub, tucked away in a cozy corner of town, truly stands out not just for its warm ambiance and exceptional service, but also for its engaging activities, particularly the Wednesday night pub quiz.
Walking into The King's Head, you're immediately greeted by a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The decor is a perfect blend of traditional and modern, with wooden beams and vintage photographs juxtaposed against contemporary seating and ambient lighting. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit.
Now, let's talk about the food and drinks. The menu offers a delightful array of pub classics and innovative dishes. From their succulent fish and chips to the more adventurous chicken shawarma flatbread, every dish is prepared to perfection. The drinks menu is equally impressive, featuring a wide selection of local ales, craft beers, and expertly mixed cocktails. They also offer a "Burger of the Month," which brings a creative twist to the classic burger, ensuring there's always something new and exciting to try.
But what truly sets The King's Head apart is their Wednesday night pub quiz. This is not your average trivia night. The quiz is well-organized and challenging, yet accessible to all levels of knowledge. The quizmaster has a knack for creating a lively and competitive atmosphere, with a mix of questions that span various topics, ensuring everyone on your team can contribute. The camaraderie among participants is palpable, and it's a fantastic way to break the mid-week monotony. Prizes for the winners are just the cherry on top!
Overall, The King's Head is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a place where memories are made. Whether you're there for a meal, a casual drink, or the excitement of the pub quiz, you're guaranteed a great time. Highly...

Me and my friends had dinner on October 24, 2023 but I had an opposite experience from back in April. You can see the before and after pictures and assess from here if the Chef is just different this time why we were served this mediocre steak? I ordered the same sirloin steak as before, but with an upgrade of an additional steak. After several minutes of wait, we were told that sirloin is no longer available for full as only half of it is available and they can only provide rump steak to replace this. I said why they dont just give us the half sirloin and also the rump steak, to compensate the fact that Sirloin (which is MORE EXPENSIVE THAN RUMP) is not available and I am paying the same amount. They eventually said it is not possible. We did not argue anymore and waited for our order. Upon arriving, I was shocked at how it looks like versus from before - 2 pcs. of onion rings?? Seriously?? The steak doesn't even have the grilled marks as before and looks like wasn't even grilled! And finally, the salad.. do you even call that a salad?? That was disgusting! Very few leaves at the bottom, they did not even put any tomatoes and looks like the leaves were just thrown in the plate! Well, just see for yourself! Very disappointing!!
Review April 2023:
Really good food, large serving, at a reasonable price. I love their Sirloin steak and the House Platter that has chicken strips, chicken wings, and...
