Churchill's Fish & Chips Sawston — Restaurant in South Cambridgeshire

I’ve only been there once, and wasn’t impressed. I might give it a second chance, but there are serious issues. Firstly, the most basic thing that this shop should be great at providing, is chips. The chips were not cooked nicely, and not delicious like chip shop chips should be, and the portions are extremely small. This is the first and most important thing they need to deal with; you need great chips & proper portion sizes! Secondly, the burger I had was extremely disappointing. It was a tasteless lump of a beef burger that looked like it had been microwaved, with some thoughtless collection of salad-like things and a sauce, in cold burger buns. And I was offered no personalization for my burger. It’s just a really poor burger. We know how to make great burgers these days, it’s not complicated. If you’re going to offer burgers, bother to learn how to make good burgers.

I’m disappointed. There’s no excuse for bad chip shops in the UK, we’ve been doing it forever. Bad shops shouldn’t be allowed to last long. So hopefully this shop will make a choice to be better, or pack up and let someone else...

Popped in on a Monday evening to grab a quick bite as I move house. Wasn't expecting much but wow, what an improvement over last time. Super crunchy batter, hot flaky fish and deliciously crispy chips. Portion size huge as well. Just what I needed after the week I've jad 😂 thank you!

We've had take away from here quite a few times and always been happy until this evening. Portion sizes for the chips were tiny. My son's l kids meal had more chips then an adults fish and chips. Really disappointing and we all were still really hungry afterwards. Can't imagine we'll be...

Possibly the slowest fish & chips service I've ever encountered. Almost 40 mins from walking to walking out. No food needed cooking, all sitting there ready to be bagged. Only 5 customers in 40 mins, so no long queue.

Lovely food, but £10 per portion and small portions at that...

Edit: Have just had to go back to the shop (20 min drive home, 20 mins back) as one whole meal was left out and missed despite double-checking with staff before leaving... it is now hellish in there. Some customers having waited 40 mins are leaving without their food. I was refunded £5 out of £27 as an apology....
