We've been in the area for work so took my Mother-in-law for a 'thank you' meal for having us.
We had my wife's #mobility #AssistanceDog with us who was accommodated easily & without fuss (other assistance dog families will know the rarity of this). All staff were consistently brilliant around her at all times with no talking to, distracting, or trying to feed or pet.
My wife & I really enjoy Indian food, but she has allergies that make life difficult around Indian food (ginger & shellfish). We were impressed then to see a wee box on the menu advising to discuss allergies with staff, so we did.
Our waiter was brilliant - most particularly he didn't do that thing that too many waiters do of making out like you're a colossal nuisance (we get it, as my wife has been a waitress & a customer service specialist so we know how easy it is to adapt if you're interested in your customer), but instead checked with his colleagues in the kitchen.
The chef himself took the time to come to the table & he also did not make her feel like I was a nuisance or had no place being there. Instead he gave obviously expert advice, without patronising & guided her in her choices. He clearly understands that #FoodAllergies are nothing to play with or dismiss.
When she picked something that inadvertently could have set my allergy off, he had ideas on how to tweak it to make it safe for her.
She ended up with an adapted 'mixed thalia' (the onion bhaji being switched for vegetable pakora), which was hotter than she would have ordered herself, but was lovely. She then had (at the chef's suggestion) the vegetable Thaba & split a mushroom rice with her Mum.
We also had an opportunity to watch our (seemingly very young) waiter interact with other diners & take away customers. We were extremely impressed with the depth of his knowledge & understanding of the menu & his confidence without any arrogance.

Normally we use the online system & have it delivered by Ben without a problem, but as we were in town thought we would place a telephone order to collect. Firstly, told it's cash only when we have always paid by card in the past. Our order was a simple one, Special Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Tikka Bhuna & Nandon Special Rice. On collection we were given ordinary Chicken Tikka Masala in place of the Bhuna, ok mistakes happen, but we were challenged that it was our mistake & not theirs. On agreeing to correct the order, we took it home only to discover it has now been replaced with a Chicken Tikka Balti, not Bhuna! We tried to call to advise of the problem over the phone, but got the answer machine. Frustrated we will have to vote with our feet & spend with another restaurant in town for a while.
Oh, & the card machine was in the shop & working, so not sure what the cash only...

After waiting almost 3 hours for delivery, I called and was told on the phone that my online order shouldn't have been accepted as they were busy and it was placed after 6.30pm. Bank had been charged and no one had phoned to say otherwise. Got told food was on its way, but half an hour later still nothing. Phoned again to be told it will be with me shortly. My partner went up to the restaurant to ask for a refund, meanwhile food had arrived, but it was the wrong order! Owner refused to refund or take any responsibility for the bad experience. 3 and a half hour wait and I still didn't get a curry, so...
