Mr Chips Diss holds a truly special place in my heart. Beyond consistently serving an absolutely amazing fish supper, their genuine friendliness and customer focus set them apart.

My late husband and I were regular customers for years. When the pandemic made visits difficult, their food was something we both missed dearly. He would even meet their delivery halfway between the shop and our home just to get his favourite!

After my husband's passing, ordering from Mr Chips became difficult for a while. His last request when he was home was a fish supper from them – a memory I cherish. My first solo order felt like a taste of heaven and a comforting connection to old times. The personal note they included, sending their sympathies, was an incredibly kind and thoughtful touch during a difficult time.

Their beef dripping chips are a must-have, and paired with their perfect haddock and delicious curry sauce or mushy peas, it truly feels like home. The convenience of online ordering and home delivery now makes them my absolute go-to for a fish supper.

I visited Mr Chips this evening, I am working in the area and really fancied decent fish and chips.

Mr Chips is right in the middle of Diss and there is parking outside.

The shop is light and airy, and well presented. Sadly they had no rock so I went for medium cod and chips.. The prices are reasonable, and the fish was cooked fresh.. I didn't have to wait long. My dinner was seved up in a smart box and smelt fantastic.

Portion was good, batter on the fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were too.

Its a 10 out of 10 for me.

I would have given a 5 star review as both the fish and chips were delicious. The chips were cooked to perfection and the fish had the right amount of crispy batter and the cod flaked beautifully. But both my husband and I suffered from awful indigestion later in the evening, which we can only put down to the vegetable oil used. But that is just us, maybe that particular type of oil doesn't digest well with us. I would hate to put anyone off at least trying them as like I said, they were delicious. Plus the staff were very...
