Saracens Head — Restaurant in South Norfolk

Was disappointed really. I know we have Covid rules, and this didn't help, but to walk in and be shown an empty brown table with just a reserved sign on it wasnt a good start! To be fair, the staff were attentive and friendly. It was the menu! I read the reviews, checked the menu on line and then phoned to make my booking. Not once did I read, or was I told that the menu had been reduced, quite a lot, because of Covid! The dish I was looking forward to was not on the menu! For me there's only two reasons for coming to Diss. The Optition and the Saracens head. What a lovely Pub. Dripping with beams, plenty of table seating, good range of Beers, Beer garden, large car park (customers only). There's a mid morning cafe culture here with plenty of good conversation and the Coffee machine working overtime. Imaginative Menu, well kept beers and nice talkative / polite 'Bar staff. Superb pub, great service and great food. The menu is more than adequate using local produce where possible. I've taken my parents here a few times and they can be really fussy, but they love it, the food is always hot ( unless of course you opt for a salad lol), there is plenty to choose from and the puddings are all delicious.
