Bistro du Vin Henley-on-Thames — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

Popped in for an al fresco lunch. First off we have never had fantastic service here. We sat outside and I got up to go inside and ask for some menu’s which is why one star less. However, once that was sorted we had a great experience. Lovely courtyard and delicious food. I had the duck, the OH had chicken with a side of mash. Booked for Sunday lunch at 12. Turned up few minutes early and very surprised at the lack of welcome. Instead I was told I didn’t have a booking, they were not ready and go and wait in the bar. We did but there was no one to serve us so we just sat there with no menus. When we did get seated the food was good but then every 5 mins they kept interrupting our conversation to ask if everything was ok. Lol …went yesterday the one star for atmosphere was because we were the only couple in the restaurant. Monday lunchtime at 1.30pm probably not the best time. However the lady serving us made up for the lack atmosphere, she was brilliant. The food and service were outstanding and the added birthday 🎂 gesture given to my wife for dessert was lovely....
