Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a pizza at 8:30pm. It then reached 9:30pm with still no updates via my app, so called to be told by Viorel, one of the employees, that the internet was down and I could “do what I want about it” before he hung up on me. I then called back and he told me that they were closing the store. I asked then what is going to happen about my order and he just kept saying “we are closing in 5 minutes”. I asked to speak to the manager or whoever was in charge and he told me that they “wasn’t there”. I then decided to drive down to the store because there is no way anyone runs a store without at least one person in charge of the shift. When I got there the door was locked so I knocked to get the attention of the person stood at the till, who was clearly Viorel because he looked at me and acted as if he could not see me. I have since checked and the points used in my order are gone and the money has still been taken from my account and not refunded or cancelled. The customer service received from this person was absolutely appalling and is seriously letting your store down if this is the way he speaks to customers who just want an update on their order or a quick resolution to the problem. Will never use this...

I ordered from them last Saturday. A full hour after the order I was contacted by a representative to inform me that they “didn’t know when they could fulfill the order” because the “pizza maker wasn’t there”. I called back in half an hour and was told that my delivery would be with me at at 4pm. I ordered at 11am!!!!! I cancelled the order but was still charged in full for it. I contacted them and gave details for a refund for the order that was never received yet charged for. I looked three days later to find that I haven’t been refunded. I called them again and they told me that I have to contact head office for a refund. They gave me the wrong number. I called back and got the right number only to be greeted by an out of hours answering machine at head office. At present, they have stolen my money for a cancelled order that was never received. Quite how a business can be run in such a haphazard manner is beyond me. I recommend that nobody ever orders from this store unless they want to invite unnecessary drama into...

I was heading to see friends and taking pizza for us for an early 5:30pm dinner. I hadn't tried any of the pizza places in Didcot, but had enjoyed Papa John's a few times in Reading over the years. So despite the less than brilliant reviews & ratings the Didcot branch has on Google and TripAdvisor, I decided to go for it. I ordered through the app, which was easy. choosing the £28.99 deal- two large "The Works" pizzas, two sides and a bottle of Pepsi Max. You can track your order progress on the app and so I arrived to collect my order a couple minutes after I was notified it was ready. It took 15 minutes to drive to my friends place, so I put the food in an insulated bag to keep it hot before we tucked in. The pizza, we all agreed, was good! Still hot, nicely topped, well cooked, tasty and not greasy . The sides were decent too, tater tots and Jalapeño poppers. For 4 of us, there was plenty to eat. We couldn't fault the food at all and based on this experience, we'd all be happy to order from here...
