I've ordered a takeaway from these guys a day before, and they sent me delivery with plenty of mistakes, and on top of that food wasn't great every single time I've tried it. And this will be the last time I ever had food from them. I am so disappointed that I had to pay in total £40.00 for this water blended tasteless curries a day before! Because most of it just gone in to bin! (1) - Starter veggi pakoras were half/semi cooked, I could straight away taste AND see uncooked & runny flour batter what they used for cooking pakoras. Not a good sign for starter, Is it??? (2) - Starter Chilli Paneer, is actually a semi dry/dry dish if you cook it "Authentically". But what they sent me was a runny watery sauce with paneer and some green chillies in it. I didn't ask for paneer curry! (3) - I've ordered 6 "Spicy" papadoms, they sent me 6 "Plain" papadoms. (4) - I've asked them to make my food spicy, specifically i explained it in that special instructions box. Even though, food was so blend. Not even enough SALT! I mean, does the chef not taste his food before dishing it out??? Seriously?? Goan chicken curry was so blend and so watery. Wasn't even a curry. Just tasteless mess in orange water. I had to throw it away after trying it. What a waste of money! May be they never tried ACTUAL authentic Goan Curry from India! (AT LEAST GO ON YOUTUBE AND WATCH THE RECIPE FOOLS!) (5) - "Little India Special Chicken" curry is apparently chef's special dish with his own spices. LOL There was nothing special about it, I just had some of it, AND they're charging £10.95 for that. Their costing price for this curry would be no more than £2.95 to £3.95, including gas and electricity. It would cost them more if they were making it Authentically! But I must say it was better than their Goan Chicken Curry. That's why I had a bit of it. Instead of throwing it away straight after trying it. lol
Also, I am pretty sure they're using ready sauces(i.e Patak's or Sharwoods or other cheap wholesale ones) to dish out orders. Because I can taste ready made sauces. I mean come on, if they're cooking everything authentically, they won't be able to cook these many curries and sides and starters from their 4-5 page menu, Its IMPOSSIBLE! As me being an Indian, I can tell this food is not Indian. We don't cook stuff like this in India. SO I WOULD KINDLY tell Little India, to erase "Authentic Indian Restaurant" line from their leaflets and from their website. May be you can put "Authentic Bangladeshi Restaurant" instead of it. Please don't lie to your customers, please don't make your customers fool or don't even think that they're fool or stupid. Because some of your customers know what real Indian food is! And DON'T INSULT ACTUAL INDIAN CUISINE AND INDIAN DISHES. Don't EVEN call yourselves Indian Restaurant, Because our cuisine is way more authentic and tasteful. You're NOWHERE near to our cuisine. So be real and be truthful to your customers. Have "BALLS" to tell your customers that we DON'T COOK AUTHENTIC, WE USE READY MADE SAUCES AND WE ARE ROBBING YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU THINK YOU HAVING AUTHENTIC FOOD IN OUR RESTAURANT!! At least DON'T RUIN THE NAME OF INDIAN CUISINE, You DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK INDIAN FOOD, and You don't have right to use that name "Indian Cuisine". You are not an Indian Cuisine! Take...
Read moreThis has been one of my regular take away delivery indian spots, food is very nice.
However, there's one pretty irritating issue for me. Let me explain: I'm a fairly tall guy, with a muscular build, so I tend to eat big portions, especially for dinner. There's nothing more disappointing than being excited to tuck into a take out, but then finding out you only get two thirds of the portion you had received the last couple times. For the amount take out costs nowadays, it puts me off ordering in future again when this happens. I dismissed it the first few times, but it happens too regularly to ignore now. There's a big difference between receiving a full tub of curry sauce with plenty of chicken and 3 onion bhajis to only receiving 2/3 of a tub of sauce with a lot less chicken, and 2 onion bhajis with plenty of room in the container for the third that's missing. This translates to all the food you recieve, it feels like they purposely take some food out to save money or perhaps the chef is a different guy who's a bit less generous with the portoins.
It's a shame because it would be easy to rate this indian a 4.5 or 5 stars if they made the portion sizes the full amount on all orders, plus it would be an easy sell to the wife and/or friends to order more regularly.
Unfortunately, this issue drags it down to 3* for me.
Sorry to the owner if you feel that's harsh, but I'd be happy to change it in future if i had some reassurance going forward that this issue would no...
Read moreWe went to this place during the weekend. First of all, their customer service is really bad. We wanted a child chair for our baby and no one was giving us that so we had to hold our baby for a long time. Later when we asked, waiter was pointing us to the place where they kept the chairs. There was a table next to us so they had to remove that for us to keep the child chair. All the other restaurants we visited so far helped us to set up the child chair without even we asked about it. And the post important thing, they served us the wrong food ! When we mentioned about it they took the plates away in a rude manner and then someone I think the manager brought it back to us and asked us to eat them too because it was thier mistake. At last, they tried to charge us for an additional orange juice and luckily we checked the bill and found this out. Food portions were small and the items were pricy.
Will never visit this...
