So Where to Begin....
Getting to the place was a task in itself as there were no signs pointing out its direction. But finally we found the place.
Ordered an Americano and a Latte, a millionare shortbread and a Flapjack £15.00. Which is outright extortionate.
Atmosphere was dead. If you didn't have a dog with you, the patrons stared at you like you were a psychopath.
Onto the main topic. COFFEE, the Americano was totally burnt nasty and bitter. The average temperature of an Americano should be between 85 deg - 93deg. The espresso machine was definitely running hotter than that, but the additional water added clearly was temperature set for tea, not coffee. Please call yourself a tea house.
The latte is the same thing here burnt taste since the group head is set way too high of a temperature. And again, the latte was extremely hot, being that it should be between 60- 70 degrees.
Note to owners that if the coffee can burn your hands through the cup, it is too hot to be a coffee.
The Flapjack was clearly made using margarine as it had a plastic artificial taste to it. And the Millionare shortbread had a very artificial sweet taste to it. Costing £7 for 2 items of that poor quality is daylight robbery.
Since i was on my way to Manchester the 1st thing i did was stop off at an actual coffee shop such as ManCoCo deansgate throw the still piping hot Americano and latte in the Bin and go get an actual consumable coffee.
IMO, the management needs to review the temperatures that the equipment is set to and train the staff on how to use the equipment correctly. Check that their suppliers are not giving them a subpar product and definitely review the prices compared to actual good coffee shops.
I did drive quite out my way since i was at CW berry to get there and it has left me very very disappointed especially to see all the great reviews which it clearly did not live up to or the patrons who regularly visit have such low standards for such...
Read moreAbsolutely, this establishment is undeniably a truly wonderful and captivating place to visit. It is genuinely heartwarming to witness its creation, finally filling the long-felt void in the park's offerings and meeting the demands and desires of the visitors for a considerable period of time.
The overall experience here is a delightful amalgamation of delightful cuisine, tantalizing beverages, and impeccable service that consistently leaves patrons thoroughly impressed and satiated. The quality and execution of the food, the variety of drinks on offer, and the attentive service provided all contribute to an exceptionally enjoyable and gratifying dining experience.
However, amidst this overwhelming praise, it is only fair to highlight that the immense popularity and well-deserved positive reception of this establishment inevitably result in its high levels of patronage. While this is undoubtedly a testament to the exceptional job they have done in creating such an inviting and rewarding venue, it does present a noteworthy challenge for some visitors to secure a spot during peak hours. Given the remarkable reputation they have earned, it is no surprise that the place tends to get bustling, making it somewhat arduous to secure a reservation or find an available table promptly.
Nevertheless, this minor inconvenience should not overshadow the fact that this establishment has truly succeeded in meeting the long-awaited expectations of the park's visitors, bringing joy, satisfaction, and a sense of community to all who have the privilege of experiencing it. The remarkable achievements of this venue, both in terms of the delightful offerings and the undeniable popularity, are a testament to the passion and dedication with which it was conceived and brought to life. Undoubtedly, it has become a true gem in the heart of the park, cherished by locals and tourists alike, and leaving a lasting impression on all who come to revel in...
Read moreIve never left a review that isnt 5 stars. But to say we were a bit disappointed today is an understatement. It was almost £10 for a cheese toastie. We dont mind paying a bit more for something special but it looked and tasted so cheaply made. Salad tasted wilted and the coleslaw wasnt for me. The egg barm was okay but very greasy/wet. Coffee was great. Cake was okay but seemed Costco bought which is fine. The staff were really friendly and service was great. The toilets smelled awful. Its a shame such a modern building doesnt have cleaner toilets and also a changing places facility. I understand the council are responsible for the toilets but either way, someone somehow should be ensuring they are nice. Sink was blocked and full of water. Im sad to be leaving this review but hopefully it could inspire change. I didnt complain at the time and i suppose i should but i hate causing drama and it was already quite busy. I know the hospitality industry is suffering and costs are up, but we go to a lot of similar places and by comparison this just isnt value for money for us. Will take a picnic next time i think. In total we paid £23 for a toastie (no chips or crisps), fried egg barm, coffee, and a piece of cheesecake. For the same price elsewhere we have had a much better experience. Im a huge dog lover and loved seeing all the dogs but i did think it would be a nightmare for people who dont like/are scared of dogs.. perhaps they could have a no dogs area so...
