A nice little friendly pub with great beer with a reasonable price also with a good Haunting history for all you ghost fans out there also with excellent quality of food with a short waiting time and friendly locals with a verity of drinks and meal including their house beers. It's also child friendly also has a good sized beer garden where you can some and/or vape and to drink and eat upside it really is a fantastic place for a night out or just for a quiet drink also the staff are very approachable and patient it's always been clean and tidy and also when you have a meal there the ale is fantastic in my opinion such a lovely draft also it's not really a good place for parking as it's in the middle of the town centre but it's close to plenty of takeaways which is always good. I have been going for years now and haven't had any trouble with any locals I really do suggest that you give the Eagle and child (the bird) visit also to toilets are always have been clean and tidy and easily to access and they have a down stairs toilet facilities for people when struggle to go upstairs and table services are pervided also including live bands pool and darts and did I mention the ghost history behind the the Eagle and child?? Then ask the locals they will tell you all about it and its also dog friendly.

Popped in after noting they sold food driving past. After checking menu they have lunch time deal has hunters chicken £8.49. ended up getting charged £12.49 for the normal price. Didn't hear what figure he said when I tapped my card. I make it a habit not to complain about food before it's served, just n case I get a spiteful surprise. Anyway also orders a pint of draft cider old Rosie apparently. Cider was warm. Food chicken was dried out and had a job cutting through it or chewing it. See pictures of the chips. The photo shows half of the child's portion provided. This half a portion where I come from would be called scraps in the chip shop and sold for 20p a bag.

The best pub in Leyland. Always had lovely meals here over the year's and today was no exception. A wonderful chef is Michael, making a delicious Sunday roast. Also Lesley and Molly are charming hosts. It's not a large pub but makes up for in charm and old world decor. A proper character venue in a very pretty part of Leyland, with a carpark across the road and close to town and Tesco. Highly recommended.

After the waitress took our meals and drinks order, we were asked to pay for them immediately. The girl brought over our refreshments to the table, when asked for a receipt she came back from the bar with the story that no receipts can be given out today as the machine had broken down. Requesting a hand written receipt was not forthcoming. After a further 10 minutes my request for a receipt fell on stoney ground again. Another bill request and the ultimatum of a get up and go if no receipt was given. Finally and strangely after nearly 20 minutes a machine typed receipt manifested itself. Myself, family and friends waited for an hour and 10 minutes to be served and quick tour of the establishment found either everybody had eaten some time earlier or were merely drinking at the tables. When the meals finally appeared after many now agitated requests the Sunday dinners where so obviously microwaved from frozen, with Auntie Bessie style potatoes hard as can be, they may easily have been rounded from left overs of previous customers. Would dissuade out of townspeople to stay away. Not value for money...

Took the wife and kids at a very busy time. It did not detract away from the quality. All the staff were polite and friendly. Tony and Maria were both very welcoming and fussed over the children. The drink selection was good, well priced and the beer quality was good. We ordered food, the selection is great and cracking prices. The eagle and child don't pretend to be a Michelin star restaurant, it's decent pub grub at affordable prices. The food came in ample time considering how busy it was, the portion size was generous and it was tasty. We've left with empty plates, empty glasses and a smile on our faces. 4 of us for less than £30. What's not to like? I'll certainly be going back sooner...
