Went in for the first time having lived in the area for a few years. I use the neighbouring pubs fairly frequently but always gave the swan a miss because of the irregular opening times and constant opening and closing down that made it uninviting. Not using this pub was a big mistake and I was pleasantly surprised to find an old time boozer that has loads of character and a good atmosphere. The sofas and decorative furniture in the back room gives a homely feel and the landlord was very friendly and welcoming.
