Eastern Touch — Restaurant in South Tyneside

Visited with a friend , I ordered chicken shashlik which I have all the time but from different restaurants, first time I've been here for years and ordered same dish, I was asked if I wanted the shashlik dry or in a sauce, I didn't even know it came in a sauce so I asked for it dry and with extra mint sauce and no salad, the 2 meals came at the same time but mine came in a sauce, the sauce was bland and the chicken looked like supermarket processed chicken, I told the waiter I asked for dry shashlik and he blamed the chef, I couldn't eat the meal as it was tasteless and didn't even look nice. The owner passed my table and I quietly complained to him, however he gave me a dirty look and walked straight past. The bill came and I could not believe he charged me the full amount for the meal I did not eat or even order. This place used to be nice ( years ago). Will never be...

I recently visited Eastern Touch in East Boldon with two friends, and we had an incredible experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were so friendly and attentive—they made us feel right at home.

I had an excellent vegetarian meal with plenty of delicious options to choose from, while my friends, who eat meat, were equally impressed with their dishes. We went on a Sunday and tried the set menu, which was fantastic value for money. Every dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.

The service was super quick, and the overall vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Eastern Touch is a wonderful local gem, and it’s so rewarding to support such a fantastic business right in the community.

This review is based on the takeaway menu and service. We were so looking forward to trying Eastern Touch as the reviews were so good, but we have been left feeling slightly disappointed. Customer service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice authentic style Indian restaurant. Food was ok, nice and well packaged. Not much more to say to be fair, suppose our expectations were too high after reading the excellent reviews but we have had better elsewhere. I feel bad for leaving this 'slightly' negative review because it looks a lovely restaurant and the staff were really nice, but at the end of the day the review is about the food. I would suggest trying it out to see if it's for you, sadly...
