Volare Ristorante Italiano Boldon — Restaurant in South Tyneside

Me and my partner went for a meal here tonight, or Atleast we hoped. We booked a table for half 7 and didn’t get seated for 15 minutes. When we were finally seated the waiter waved us over to the table? Very blunt. We got our drinks and ordered our meal and 45 minutes later, still no starter. We were pretty much ignored by the staff and as soon as I asked them if we can pay for the drinks and leave they weren’t apologetic and didn’t care we had a bad experience. Was out first visit and we were so bitterly disappointed it will be our last! So very busy they couldn't handle the demand. Staff all seemed nice but pushed to their limits due the amount of customers. It was 100% capacity and we had to wait in the stairwell for our table to be vacated and reset. Waited 2 hours for our main course. I liked that we could park outside albeit on the main road. The service was good with friendly but not overbearing staff. The food was very good and served piping hot. The actual restaurant is quite spacious so we were not sat shoulder to shoulder as in some restaurants. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the evening we were there the place felt a little cool. There were 9 of us and by the time we had eaten we were feeling shivery.
