Booked a slot for this establishment for 10:40 thinking that they would be serving dinner at this time since it's Mother's day. No mention of what times their breakfast and dinner services are. Went there on time asking for dinner services only to be told they don't serve dinner until 11:30 and that they are fully booked and we won't be able to be seated. The lady behind the counter was not helpful whatsoever. There should be some notifications on their app to specify what time dinner and breakfast is. When I mentioned this to the lady, I just got a total blank look and dismissed it as if that's how it is. I've uploaded a screenshot of their booking page from the app. There is literally nowhere on this page that says "Breakfast served from X:XX to X:XX and lunch served from X:XX to X:XX. I have been to this place many times before. The food is fantastic and the Atmosphere is great but this encounter has left a sour taste in my mouth and the level of service I received from this interaction was just poor and I got a feeling of "I don't care" service. I thought it might just be the fact that they will be extremely busy as it's Mother's Day and they are on edge with how busy they are going to be but that does not give any reason for the level of service I received. Not sure I will be going back there in the future. Felt like I was just shrugged off.

Pre booked a table for 3, upon arrival we were greeted by what must have been the manager with a "Yes? Can I help you" as though we were an inconvenience, table not ready so had to sit and wait, no offer of drinks, we were taken to table, the new procedures were explained to us, drinks were ordered and did not arrive until part way through the meal, (which we then had to ask for, otherwise they would not have arrived) We were seated next to the area where the staff congregate next to the till/cutlery tray/empty glass area and listening to the conversations of staff members. Yes, we have to adapt to this "new way of life" but apart from the food which was nice as always, nothing made me feel welcome, not even asked if we wanted a second helping of drinks, just felt rushed to get the table cleaned and next guests in, won't be hurrying back to this particular Toby Carvery anytime soon. Tricia, our host was good, looked like she was doing 10 things at once but with a cheery smile on her face, I got the impression she was being rushed by her manager to speed things along.

Lax sums up the whole experience tonight. Which is a shame as usually standards are top notch. Waiting a while to be attended to on arrival, whilst another patron was happily vaping away on a fruit machine. I was seated eventually ordered my drink, and then ignored. I had to go to the server who was stood around to ask if they want a food order? The response, I thought you were waiting for someone else. Is the concept of eating alone so alien? I waited an age at the carvery, someone came out, said they didn't realise I was there, then disappeared. Eventually, a very cheerful and helpful Teo appeared and was very good. After eating, the food was lovely as usual, an age of looking at the server to actually pay for my meal. Not a great advert for what is normally a very enjoyable and smooth experience Must do better.

Visited here for Sunday lunch never again! Was booked in with my friend, I had some bad news that morning on the death of a family member so didn't feel like eating but had to get out still.

My friend had a carvery, I had one roast potato from her plate only. When the bill arrived my friend was charged for a child's plate, we protested and the jumped up woman with short black hair and tattoos all down her arms got the manager. An overweight scruffy guy with a green dirty shirt came over protesting they were a business, I argued and he backed down and let us off with it. No warning of plate sharing anywhere, this is disgusting service, the manager asked me to keep my voice down but I didn't because I want the customers to know about the rip off, let me tell you now.. If I want to raise my voice then I will, you do not tell me what to do and you will understand that!! One roast potato does not equal a child's price, you need to display this. Listen up everyone reading this.. They are trying to rip you off regarding plate sharing. Avoid this place trust me. Food bland, overcooked and the staff watch your every move. AVOID!! NO RESPONSE FROM THIS REVIEW WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ME. NO EXCUSE FOR THE WAY WE WERE TREATED AFTER TERRIBLE NEWS. DO NOT TRY JUSTIFY YOUR BUSINESS ACTIONS TOWARDS ME. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND I WILL NEVER VISIT A TOBY CARVERY AGAIN. PS MY FRIEND WAS GOING TO HAVE A CHRISTENING MEAL HERE WITH 19 GUEST BUT I'VE NOW PERSUADED HER TO GO ELSEWHERE! YOUR LOSS OF BUSINESS ALL BECAUSE OF THE STAFF AND RUDE SO CALLED...

We have been too this Toby, for a Carvery 5 times in 2.5 years and once for Breakfast. I can honestly say, we stopped going here because the food was always either overcooked or undercooked, substandard. We had roast potatoes looked great on the outside but raw in the middle, Cabbages, Cauliflower in sauce, that were watery and overcooked. We stopped going their, after giving them so many second chances. The Breakfast was horrendous, everything was cooked to within an inch of its life. Sausages, Bacon, eggs all over done, or were reheated from the day before. On Tuesday 1/2/22 after 19 months we were passing, thought we would see if it had changed, NO it hadn't, veg were Ok. Yorkshire puddings, were so dry they crumpled to dust, almost, tasted like they'd been fried in Vegetable oil, NOT traditional dripping. The meat portions were measly at best, half a slice of see through Turkey and Beef, literally the smallest portions ever. The stuffing was hard outside, uncooked inside. Not impressed at all, there were only around 15 people in the restaurant. The service staff were very polite and helpful. Unfortunately I really will not be attending this Toby Carvery again, it's been a disgrace, a complete...
