Being new to the area we have tried a few local pubs, the Marquis is an a traditional pub in a lovely setting, the prices are what you would expect to pay in most pubs in and around Harpenden. We have tried the tapas which was great quality and also the Sunday roast which was even better than expected. They do fresh pizzas which we are yet to try but they look and smell great! The food is definitely a big selling point in visiting this pub! The staff are welcoming and chatty and make the effort to remember you and your order which adds to the local business feel. The owners are the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and the bar staff are just brilliant (Will, Theo, etc.—they always remember our order, which we love!). The food is always top quality, and the wine selection is honestly next-level for a pub. We have the best time every single visit (and we come loads, hehe).
Highly, highly...
