Blackburn's The Bakery — Restaurant in St Helens

The pies are the best around. However, what I don't like, is they overcharge me nearly every week. Same order, but sometimes its up to £1 dearer. They're too busy yakking to each other and not concentrating. I only get 4 items, how hard can it be to add it up? They still get it wrong when they use a calculator. I was overcharged by around £3 once, and I had to pull them up. I was made to feel I was the one in the wrong, which I wasn't. The young girl who did it didn't even apologise. I don't like that. It's just ripping people off. Plus, lately, I've found if you go around 11 am, the pies seem warmed up from the day before. Sometimes burned...

There's a good reason this place has queues (despite covid) out the door. Everything they produce is fantastic quality. Anything else they sell that isn't produced in house is locally sourced and is of similar quality. There is a continuous supply of freshly baked pies. All the sandwiches they do are made to order with very fresh ingredients. All the bakery products are produced from scratch in the bakery that day, so once it's gone it's gone. The counter staff are as quick as they can be. Don't expect faddy fillings and expensive coffee, do expect good food, good service and good prices. The scones...

Blackburn's bakery is as famous in St Helens as its Rugby team. They make the nicest pies and cakes, barmcakes, ect for miles around. They have quite a number for staff working behind the counter, so you will not be waiting long to get served. Staff are very friendly and polite and everything is freshly made on site.
