Such a lovely place good beer, massive outdoor area and good food. If you want to catch the sun while drinking this is a great place. Lots of room for kids to play if you have kids. The only slight negative is when they are very busy you can be waiting a while at the bar.

What a great dish! Probably the best lasagna that I had in the UK. Proper fresh homemade. Compliments to the chef!

Absolutely awful experience.

We came out as a family for Mother’s Day and pre booked our meal 2 weeks prior.

We arrived and got seated at our table, we waited 30 minutes and not one person came over to us. I went over to the bar and explained the situation and a waiter came over and said the manager said we could have a round of free drinks.

After this we continued to wait a further 30 minutes for our staters. They were absolutely awful. The soup was full of pepper and nothing else, the mushrooms had no sauce, the halloumi was horrendous and looked awful. We had a 18 month year old baby and repeatedly asked for the food to be brought out first, it arrived after everyone’s meals. When it did arrive it was full of pepper and caused the baby to cry.

We waited a further 30 minutes and our starters still wasn’t cleared. At this point we’d all had enough and our Mother’s Day was ruined. My dad passed away last year and it was my mums first Mother’s Day without him and it was awful.

I spoke with the manager who gave us everything for free but couldn’t care less. Wasn’t interested and seemed happy we was leaving so they didn’t have to serve the main course (we left after the starters).

They’re obviously under staffed and the staff they have were not trained and wasn’t interested. Very disappointed and will not be...

Shocking isn’t the word. Moved to st.helen just under a year ago, decided to go here for lunch on Sunday afternoon as the reviews looked good. However, the food&service we experienced from here today may possibly be the worst i’ve ever received anywhere in a long time. We were sat in a room away from the bar area, where one other table was, they had their mains and was ordering desserts. We (2 of us!) waited 45 minutes for our order. When we asked a young girl why it had taken so long, she stated the kitchens response was ‘the kitchen have too many checks on’. Okay? well simple customer service would be to inform ordering guests of a wait on food surely? When the food eventually came out, it wasn’t even worth the wait. I ordered the sunday roast which was missing 2 items stated off the menu, the gravy may as well of been salt water. Sourdough bread was cold. Other meal was the german sausage burger, but came as a small pork sausage in some white bread? no sauce as stated on the menu either. Not one member of staff apologised for the wait or asked how our food was. Place wasn’t clean either Absolutely appalling and never again would I waste my time...

I’ve just come off the phone with the manager. Who was shockingly unhelpful, patronising and unapologetic. I had my 33 year old brothers funeral wake there and it was awful. I paid £870 for room and gold buffet. People came in to a cold dark unlit room. The memory table was not set up. The staff were miserable, unhelpful and rude. There was no music on in background. The atmosphere was terrible. The buffet was awful and was put out late after prompting. There was a lady standing guard of the buffet doling out tiny portions. I was incredibly awkward. At one point she told me off for trying to serve myself some hotpot. The sandwiches were dry and cheap. They did not lay out enough for 50 people. When I complained - I was told they would have made more if more was needed. There was a couple of pieces of tiny chopped up cheap cake. That is not what I paid for. People would not believe I paid £870 for this and more importantly my brothers wake ruined. I will never set foot in the...
