Nestled quietly in the middle of rainhill shopping square, the blue mango restaurant stands apart from the closed shops and the empty spaces. It is hiding in plain sight, a delight to taste, and at a reasonable price. We stayed for a Monday night meal, with the restaurant having plenty of space at 7pm. The decor is clean and styled nicely, the staff well majored, respectful and pleasant. Our drinks order was taken promptly and tasted great when they arrived. I had an old fashioned cocktail, and a beer. The wife enjoyed a pina colada and a lager with lime. Both very tasty, both great measures. For starters... Poppadoms and mixed kebab, then a mix of 2 mains. dansak and dupiaza with a side of pilau rice and Peshawar naan. The food was fantastic. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A definite 'on par' best Indian meal in the area. Even compared to the excellent flavours of "cottage Warrington". Having enjoyed many with the area, it goes without saying this is our new Local Indian! Excellent work 👍👏. We will be back

After reading all the positive reviews, we were very excited to try Blue Mango for the first time! My partner’s food came out lukewarm and tasted like supermarket curry paste. My mixed grill also came out lukewarm and lacked the fragrance and flavour you’d usually expect from it - thoroughly average. None of the grill dishes are served in sizzling pans as “they don’t do sizzlers”. The naan bread was fresh and tasty, and was sadly the highlight of our meal. We let the owner know our thoughts kindly and politely, he apologised and promised to sort something out for us next time we’re there. That’s not really any consolation when we have the problem with our meal *this* time. We should’ve been offered a discount off our bill. Alas, we paid, left disheartened, and now I’m writing a Google review for a restaurant - something I’m not sure I’ve ever done before. We’re sad more than anything as it’s got so much buzz about it here and on trip advisor. Guess it used to be a better establishment?

What can you say??? This is a local business with an excellent reputation that has been very generous and has put so much into the local community and the NHS in these difficult times - thank you. On to the review, the ordering process was simplicity itself, delivery was on time and the food was hot. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Roghan Josh and Chicken Balti. The food was EXCELLENT! The chicken was of a very high quality and it was not too 'saucey'. Would have no hesitation in recommending this local gem.

We went to the Blue Mango last night Saturday 6th September, party of 5 and over £200 spent.

I must say we regularly go here and last night has put us off going again.

Our drink order was wrong three times on the bounce.

Our starters had to be chased up numerous times with different staff members and some were cold in the middle when we got them.

The mains - one curry had a skin on it showing it had sat on the pass for a while, the sea bass was cold and dry and the rice was bland. The so called garlic naan bread was more plain with no garlic taste.

Had to ask for plates to be wiped as still had bubbles on, had to ask for cutlery, one us never even got a plate had to ask for one after the meals were brought to the table.

When advising the staff, he said I will go tell the chef. Then who I am assuming was the manager in a white shirt came to the table he was very rude, direct and abrupt when discussing these issues.

We had a table booked which had been changed three times we arrived at 7.40 and did not leave until 9.30 due to the service having to chase up our food ,asking for drinks to be corrected and when raising issue got spoke AT……not...
